I wont say that, they're just different. Yao can play a major role on a championship team, but the team as well as yao have to come to a happy middle. People bang on mcgrady, but its hard to play with yao, but he does it and likes it. I know for a fact alot of other wings ask him what is it like and he tells tham its not as easy at it seems. Yao needs to evolve his game and i know he will. Evolving his game means using that great shooting touch and height at the high post. I want to see Yao off the blks some for penetration and kick to baseline jumpers. i want to see yao study alot of film to anticipate cuts from the high post so the baseline can open up. I want to see yao with no hesitation shoot the ft line jumper. Then in the 4th qt, team wont know what the rox are doing. Once they overcommit to the cuts and stuff, then yao goes into the post fresh and kills people. I also want Morey to get more cutter and slashers so we can get guys that can finish some of those plays, run the lane in transition, and get to the rim to draw fouls. He's a vital cog, just not the cog people want him to be. You can win with yao, you just have to have a assortment of players that can make it easier on him.

that was because the team was content to just shoot a jump shot with 3 seconds left on the clock every possession down by 30. Think about it this way, the rockets could just have taken a 24 second violation every trip down and the lakers would basically have to score 30 points in half the period. they hit some tough jump shots but they never even got the lead under 10.

Hayes was a revelation. You knew he was going to do a number on Gasol, but there were stretches where he owned the paint like he was a 7-foot center. I have no idea how an undersized power forward can do the things he does. I am in awe.

Expect the Lakers to zone up and ignore Chuck next game. It's gonna be much tougher to drive the lane. Like JVG said, I'll expect some hack-a-Chuck at some point in the game too. It will completely take any momentum away from the offense.

When you are seven feet earning close to 12M a year and you get owned by a 6. 6 guy who earns 1/6th of your pay, you should retire and give some of your check back....

Gasol is a shame and the lakers are overatted and soft.....

THE HEAT IS ON LA... we will see how good they really are.

    GO ROCKETS

If Ron shoots well, the scores would be even more ridiculous. I hope RON bring it next game.

This will go down as one of the greatest Rockets playoff games ever. I assure you we will be talking about it here for a long time.

Hard to say what the future holds for the team this year, but I will always be proud about this beat down of LA.

    No Yao = Less turnovers

My theory of what we saw today is that in the first 3 games the Rockets wasted A LOT of posessions trying to unsuccessfully feed the ball into Yao, or Yao getting stripped.

Now that Yao is out we are taking a lot better care of the basketball, which limits the easy fast-break layups for the Lakers that change the entire feel of the basketball game right into the Lakers hands, and it forces the Lakers to have to score against us in the half-court.

Low turnovers vs Lakers + Shane's D on Kobe + AB hitting shots= very good chance for Rockets to win

I have complete faith in the first two parts... the only thing I worry about now is the streaky nature of Brooks.

Too small a sample size. If our TOs in the remaining games this series stay around 10 or less, then you may be on to something.

Anybody know if there is somewhere online that I can download or see a replay of the post-game press conferences? I'd love to see it but I was at the game.
