    Michael Redd isn't a 3
Probably dunleavy if he stays, otherwise Butler(if he can guard bigger 3s), Odom if he isn't asking for a max or still high

You forgot Nickoloz Tskitishvili. Wasn't it RT that went to europe to scout him?

Odom. Landing him w/o giving up #1 would (will?) be a major coup. I just wish Roc Paint would verify the "how" of it, but I understand if he doesn't.

On and off court chemistry (no drug jokes please) with Odom would be sweetness. And he's had some seasoning in the league, although he will continue to improve.

And we'd have shotblockers all along the frontcourt.

Yao, Lamar, Griff, Cato, Mo, Collier...

    Well, 4 out of 6 ain't bad.

    Factors:
Cost + Ability = the best option

Question: what are these guys asking for?

    1. Mike Miller - still on Rookie Scale?
    2. DemarrJohnson - What is his game like? Money?
    3. Bonzi Wells - Like his game/ his attitude is suspect-money?
    4. Donyell Marshall seems like he will stick with jazz.. and he has their stench :)
    5. Kendall Gill - What is the difference
    6. Jim Jackson - these two Jim Jackson = Kendal Gill
    7. Lamar Odom - Suspect attitude - drug issue - Money?
    8. Rashard Lewis - money? inside game and handles?

Mike Miller - he has a good shot. Seems to run well. he seems
to be Dunleavy without the handles. . .. MAYBE

Many of the Free Agents listed here are Qualifying Offer (Restricted) FA's.

It is worth noting that Lee Nailon is an unresticted FA who put up 10.8 ppg with 3.7 rpg, 1.2 apg and .75 spg. His range is a little difficult to determine as he was only 1 for 2 from the arc for the season. His defense needs work, but he is 6'9" and athletic. Can he be any worse on the defensive end than Rice or Walt?

Another unrestricted FA not listed is Tyronne Nesby. He's a little undersized at 6'6" but very athletic. Nesby doesn't have great range either but he does board well for a SF - 4.5/g.

Expecting an All Star at every position may not be realistic. We need some tall, tough, blue collar players. I just can't figure out what it would take to pry Ron Artest from the Pacers.

We need a Bruce Bowen or Ron Artest type of player. We don't need Mike Miller or any other sharpshooters - we have enough scoring.

DEFENSE! That's what it's all about!

agree. D is the key. that is why we should say no to yao, he just too weak to defend any of the nba's strong man, and he will be foul out in 5 mins of playing time. ODEM!!!!!

I havent seen much of Bruce Bowen, but what I have seen tells me that he is a hard worker.

Kinda like the intrigual peice of a championship puzzle i.e. Mario Elie.

These players who dont really need the ball to make a contribution, and their work may or may not be on a Stat sheet, but they are vital to the game.

If we are somehow able to ditch Rice then I would like us to sign Walt for around the minimum. He could be a great spark off the bench on the offensive end ala Bobby Jackson.

I agree with the comments about defense--a must when selecting a small forward to play with this team. If, however, the player can only play defense--no offense--then I say we already have him: T. Morris. So whatever player we bring in at the small forward must be a better offensive player than Morris is at this moment in addition to being a good defender.
