just saw this stat, no we are not better without Yao but maybe it does not hurt us that much against this team considering Hayes can play lock down D against Gasol

Shouldn't you enjoy the win instead of dogging the man who just got the season ending injury?

wtf are you talking about? I just said no we are not better w/o Yao but the stat is we are 4-0 against LAL all time with no Yao. Maybe we have a chance is the point

I think they will see a whole lot more of face ups by Gasol than post ups. Gasol is not one dimensional on offense and they will make adjustments. Hayes will need more help defense than he did tonight.

I think this may not be a coincidence. It may be the same reason the Lakers do not like to play the Blazers. Quickness kills them. And with Yao on the floor, the rockets' game slows to a crawl. But that's not to say the Rockets are better off without Yao in the long run.

Blazers actually play probably slower than the Rockets. and that's honestly why we would took them out in 6 games because they didn't take advantage of their speed.

I'm not talking about fast breaks. I meant quickness, as in how fast their passes are, how quick their movements to the basket are, and how quickly they can get off a good shot. In that department, the Blazers are second to none, as in no other team in the NBA is quicker than the Blazers.

I'm a huge Yao fan and supporter. But the reality may be that he is just too slow for today's NBA game. As they say in boxing, speed kills.

LMFAO. Wow, some people here are so r****ded. I'm sorry about the name calling but this is a joke right? 3 of the wins were like a year and 2 ago. It's the Lakers without Pau and Bynum while our lineup range from Tmac to Rafer without Brooks and Artest. Wow, stupid stupid people.

Lakers sure were full-strength today. And they just plain got out-quicked to rebounds, loose-balls, transitions, you name it.

Then I guess they must be passing the ball about thirty times per possession before getting off a quick yet good shot because I'm pretty sure they were the last team in the whole league when it came to pace of the game.
