that's your sample size?? the 4th quarter?? for 3 quarters we blow them out of the water.....and you laugh it off because it's just one game.

but you come back with one quarter...and not even a full one at that?? :D

That was not pointed exactly at MM. That was towards some posters in here and they know who they are.

Yao needs to strictly be a situational player. Play him only against the Dwights, the Oden's, and the Bynum's. His size is too much of a liability against smaller players.

This offense seems to flow better without Yao because they have more time. Yao seems to clog up the lane and prevent them from driving too. This team came back down 15pts in LA with Yao sitting. So it's not like Yao help them that much. If anything, Yao help in terms of guarding penetration. Offensive, not much since they fronted him. Defensive and rebound seems to be BETTER without Yao as well because Chuck is quick enough to double Kobe. And Chuck can guard Gasol.

no mclazy no Yao ming. And look what we did today.. wow... i would rather have Yao than mcgrady but im really really starting to think what we can get for trading these guys. If we can by any way get a D Wade, trade it all.

I'm not shocked at all that the Rockets won. Actually, if you look through my posts I expected it.

Having said that, the Lakers were caught off guard. Rest assure they will make the adjustments necessary. Yao's absence is going to be painful once the Lakers clamp down on the other players that made contributions today.

There is a huge difference between players who can score on teams not ready for them and the players who score when a team's defense is designed specifically to stop them.

i just saw the stats on ESPN.

"Rockets are 4-0 vs Lakers without Yao."

i'm saying, we play may better against lakers without yao.

but we need him to win the championships...no question.

Hey now, we're on cloud 9 with this blowout win, but we're going to NEED an efficient Artest to have any chance to win one of these road games.

    Quoted for Truth.

I think this is s a great situation to help develop our other players with potential (Brooks & Scola). Next season, hopefully T-Mac will be more mentally focused, Yao Ming should probably lose 20 pounds to ease the stress on his joints and if ya'll just add up all the puzzle pieces (our team chemistry has finally gelled, we're playing with confidence, and we've got special young players to build around in the long run) we're going to be one of the elite teams (this year we we're still gelling).

Next year I wouldn't be surprised to see AB put up 14 pts and 4 assists a night...so now we've got Yao, a healthy T-Mac, a more mature Ton Artest, a very consistent and underrated Luis Scola, a class act in Battier and the emergence of Aaron Brooks...not to mention a very solid bench. I know this season aint over yet, but damn, the Rockets are definitely giving us TRUE fans (not the shiz load of fair weather fans I see all over Houston) something to really be proud of.

Clutch City is back, baby

this team can play without anybody. like i said, if we could, let yao and tracy go and get all those capspace and get very good players at each position.

this team is legit even without yao and tracy. so proud.

With Yao out, Battier was able to get more shots instead of having to constantly feed Yao the ball. Kobe slacks off on Battier and dares him to shoot. When Battier is scoring, it forces Kobe to play defense which makes him expend much more energy.

if we let both those guys go and signed more good players, we would be the 2001 Sactown kings, except we'd be a dynasty.

Stupid. How many points Gasol scored inside the paint in 4th quarter? Lakers didn't go to Gasol enough in first 3 quarters just like Rockets did to Yao, they took Yao-less Rockets too lightly.

Wait until series is over and see.

they went to Gasol plenty the entire game. Hayes just defends him very well.

Yeah, but Gasol is too good a player to be stopped by a guy 7 inches shorter than him playing one on one. I think the Rockets will have to double him in game 5. I saw signs in the fourth quarter of him getting it together.
