I'm really surprised there hasn't been any appreciation thread on shane. Sure he doesn't make exciting plays but he is our intangible superstar!

Without Shane's big 3s in the first quarter, this might have been a completely different game. It was 17-4 and Shane was 3/3 from long range. Plus his D on Kobe kept him from going off. Otherwise, Kobe would have taken 20 shots and scored 25 points in the first half.
You know Battier's cracking when he has more points then the guy he guards. Especially sweet when the guy's name is something like Kobe.
Shane is unique! He is a player that every coach dreams to have, and a teammate that every player wants to play with!
Shane showed that he is really an unselfish player, the guy can shoot and can score yet elects to play defense every night. Teams should have players like Hayes, Battier and Mutombo till they retire. They are really special guys who just play their roles. Hey Kobe....I will say it for Battier "You cant guard me" Ha HA
Probably the first time a player had more points in one game than he did in every regular season game combined I was just telling a buddy the other day that Shane was due for a 4 or 5 three pointers made game. It could not have come at a better time. Even within the game they came at the exactly the right point to put the Lakers on their heels immediately.
