Yep. And let him take his injuries with him.

Fair weather fans like me want championships and trophies.

My point about the Knicks is that they were WAY OVER the cap and are going to be under it in 18 months. Their situation was WAY more complicated than ours. And its going to get done.

The cap money + NYC = ANY PLAYER THEY CAN PAY WILL GO THERE.

I love Houston. But this is NYC. You like the spotlight, fame and fortune like these players, this is the place to be. MSG is probably the best place to see basketball when the Knicks are good. That place rocked in the 90's.

And God forbid they win a championship. Whoever is here will make a KING'S ransom. ;)

The thing is, the Knicks will still suck for another 3-5 years if they land Lebron. Lebron won't have nearly the same quality supporting cast he has in Cleveland. He's going to get paid regardless. If he goes to New York, it's because he wants the spotlight and fame like you said. If he wants to compete for championships every year, he'll stay in Cleveland. And if Lebron does stay in Cleveland and the Knicks can't land Wade or Bosh either, they're royally screwed because they'll essentially have to rebuild the team from scratch like an expansion team.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that the Rockets shouldn't take the chance and let both Tracy's and Yao's contracts expire in an effort to get under the cap. If they do that and fail to sign a franchise free agent, we're screwed. If we're going to get rid of Tracy and/or Yao, it has to be via trade. I'm sure Morey knows this. If TMAC isn't in the future plans, you can bet he'll be traded. And if the Rockets come to the same conclusion on Yao, you can be he'll be traded as well. The chances of us gaining anything significant by letting their contracts expire is virtually zero.

The biggest problem is to make a transition from a team that won 53 wins to a team that has to win the same amount of wins or even more without hurting chemistry.

Also can Rockets really get the equals to healthy McGrady and Yao right now?

I don't think so...but on the other side both of them are injured often so anything is possible.

Don't forget that Alexander will not let go Yao, he's such a cash cow for Houston Rockets and Les loves it.

if you want championships and you want to hit the reset button, you better be prepared to wait a long while. building a good team in the nba is hard enough; building a great one from scratch and turning it into a contender is a monumental task. there are only maybe 2 or 3 great teams in the nba right now (LA, cleveland, a healthy boston).

people keep pointing to 2010 as a rebuilding year, and it may very well be, but rebuilding by definition means we are not going to see positive results till maybe 3 or 4 years down the line. i don't think most people recognize how hard it really is to put together a solid team; we are NOT going to just magically become good by trading away yao + tmac for X, Y or Z players that match their salaries. i trust in morey and adelman and think that we will ultimately make the most of what we have. but be realistic; its going to take a lot of patience if we really do decide that hitting the reset button is our best bet.

    Well.
Championships and trophies in your dream.
With one of the worst organizations in the league (and definitely the worst owner), the team has never been a good place to attract talented players like LBJ and DW.

    Call Yao Injury Prone...Agree.

Calling Yao soft after this season...you don't know what heart is. The oaf played his ass off, and if you can't see that, I just don't know what to say.

Don't get me wrong, I love what this team did this year, but I agreed with Almu. It's time to start thinking about the future because we're getting no where with this core dual "stars"
