Yao is simple not effective or healthy enough and the NBA referee's educated enough for him to get max money.

You can't put all your eggs in one basket if that basket is going to have a hole ripped in the bottom year in and year out. As long as referee's continue to NOT understand and know the proper fair way to call Yao, he will never be as effective as he could be. The NBA will not allow Yao to be as dominant.

Plus, he will be fronted forever now and until the Rockets get a PG that can effectively get him the ball, this is all a mute point to begin with.

Yao has already turned down our offers for extensions twice. Your statement is laughable, we might not even be able to sign him.

Giving bad contracts is why the rockets of the rudy era were so mediocre. The lakers next season might lose odom cause they gave bynum all that money.Think of the knicks over the last few years.

The rockets will offer him a max contract, but Yao might give up a couple of millions, just like Duncan!

Yao for Max, no-brainer. If rox does not offer him MAX, other NBA teams GM would be waiting in line to sign Yao with a Max
