I've lurked here for years but never posted because the culture here seemed to be one of belligerence and YOF-ROF partisanship rather than the unity that should really be the foundation of all fan communities.

But I felt like throwing up when I first heard this news.

I don't understand fans who are saying trade Yao, we're better off without him, etc.

What is a team but the players who constitute it? Are we supporting real human beings or just the jerseys they wear?

If you don't like Yao Ming and don't support him 100% and don't feel his pain and don't want him to stay with this franchise for the rest of his career, you've got to reconsider whether you're really a hardcore Houston Rockets fan after all.

For the past seven years, Yao Ming has embodied what being a great sportsman is all about. He has worked his butt off, played the absolute best he could, cared about his teammates and been a flawless role model for all of us.

How can we not be behind him now?

So what does this mean for Yao and China? They say 8-12 weeks, but does that mean he will still play in late summer? If he could just rest over the summer, just imagine...

yao ming has had a backup and he still got hurt.

3 times in the last 4 seasons, he hasn't finished the season

the 3 seasons prior to this last season he missed at least 30 games in each of those seasons.

I was thinking about that the other day, but it was so we could destroy Kobe and the Lakers next season.

Yao should go to Miami.., where he doesn't have to fight alone and play less minutes. Trade Yao!

    Well said.

But as a lurker you must realize that most of the fans here are as fickle as the weather in Houston.

As evidenced by Rockets attendance as long as I have been a fan.

I appreciate all you have said, but it is lost on most on these boards.

All im going to say is this is a sad day for the Rockets and the TRUE Rockets fans. As for the guys that hate McGrady and bashed him because he gets injured to much Karma sucks right about now for yall.

Yao needs to stop playing ball for China and rest. BTW is this the same foot from last year??

This time I am not shocked at all. When I saw Yao's body langauge in gme 3, I had a feeling that it's going to happen again. Yao's career will be in danger if Moery don't get a decent backup C. He just tried so hard that his foot has been already overused.

I kinda no what Yao is going threw. I mean like "feel like everything is going your way" And all of a sudden it comes to a hault. Just like my playing basketball days. Still on the rehab to recovorey!!!!! But as Yao goes well we at least made it to the 2nd round. Well what if we didnt make it thus far. Then we would be saying like wheres tracy?

is it possible for yao to come back if we made the finals?

it'd be several weeks of recovery by then and he doesn't need to get surgery...?

I agreee. Yao tries so hard to the point of breaking. Lets replace Deke with someone who can share the load and give Yao a rest during the regular season. Lets see what happens with McGrady or what Morey does and we chould be in the right place next season. If your really a fan. You'll support, when a team who is trying losses or has losses.

    Go Rockets!
