completely agree... this sounds bad, but last season i was excited when yao went down. Because i liked our chances with mcgrady and hte rest of our guys running the court and playing hard nosed basketball with nothing to lose.

I have that feeling again with Artest. I think Artest is lost in our offense at times because having to defer to Yao, our offense will have more movemtn. You talk to any coach, motion is very important in functional offenses.

damn if we win, damn if we don't but i would like to make the fakers earn it. Give us 7 games  come on karma...on another note whenever my friends start a bet. I am 7/7 (usa win over mexico gold cup, pac over morales 3 times, Boston over the lakers last yr, UT over USC, and golden state over dallas) so hopefully it's 8/8 *crossed fingers*

Hell yeah man, we're probably going to get beat over the course of 7 games. We probably could not have won even with you. Kobe is just too damned good.

But lets at least go out having one hell of a good time. Awesome time to be a fan. Lets do it.

RunRunRun is worth a try, but as this team doesn't do it a lot, I'm worried about our offense turning into more turnoverturnoverturnover

They should've run from the beginning of the year but don't get your hopes up. This team, Rockets teams in general over the years, have been terrible at running the fastbreak. Tracy never liked it because was a p***y and did not want to get tired so since 04-05 it's been nothing but walking.

I have not seen AB use his speed to his advantage enough, Lowry is a 1-man fastbreak but just once / twice per game, Wafer is not even looking to run anymore, Battier acts like he can't run, Scola does it once every 50 games, Hayes has trouble with his feet, Barry is old, Landry is.....

I have no idea why the Rockets do not run more, maybe it's RA fault or maybe there's something going on mentally but any HUMAN FREAKIG BEING can RUN !!!!

The Rockets are a bunch of low IQ-ed nitwits who rather play dumb and conserve energy for a late night party than run the fastbreak. Sad....

What makes you think lakers wont out run them. Sure fisher or farmar are not going to be able to stop brooks and carl but do you really think thats going to be enough ? I say rockets do what you do best trap kobe and hope the lakers players misses.

They must continue the fight, for yao, for deke, for us the fans. Who needs to run though? We still have 2 post up players in scola and ron.

I would like to see more ball pressure as well. When we get a defense rebound or just pass the ball inbound, there is always one or two LA players in the back court hustling to create something from nothing. You usually see this kind of turnover once every 10 games in the regular season, but we have two/three such turnovers every game.

Gamble more on steals and traps and go for fast breaks. We are playing on home court. If they don't get call for being super slappy, then we shouldn't get too many reach-in.

Disagree. I think with Hayes, Artest, and Battier on the court for most of a ball game you simply plug Scola into Yao's spot and conduct business as usual. Either we shut the down defensively or we bust. Running with the Lakers might be unexpected, but I doubt it'll be fun.

Yeah I would pay to watch White play in an Uptempo game.

It's not a bad idea. Yao is good on offense, but running the offense through him has proved to be extremely diffucult. Now that he is gone, the lanes will open up a more. Giving guys like Artest, Brooks, and Wafer more room to operate. Also we'll have more time on the shot clock to work with, since we won't have to waste 10 seconds trying to force feed Yao.

We were already being killed on the boards.

Nothing more demoralizing than playing the perfect D only to have them get the ball after a missed shot.
