I actually think the Rockets, even without Tracy and Yao, are good enough to win a 1st round against 5 or 6 of the 8 Eastern conference playoff teams. Against the Lakers? Forget it.
I don't know if he can lose that much weight, much less lose it and be effective, but it sure sounds like an idea they ought to try.
Lets trade him to Cleveland. Since when you guys think this team is built for Yao? no backup C, ****ing AB..
every year you can say the same stuff to every team and you get it right by 29/30 or maybe even 100%. how smart you are!!!
Reebok .. anyone know how much longer hes stuck in a contract with reebok? he needs to get nike to make him some shoes that'll be a fit for his body and feet!!!
I'll keep rooting for the Rockets, but man this is disappointing. Can we please keep a superstar on the court?
I know I'm just a rookie, but perhaps we just need to negotiate with Yao's management correctly? I'm also no sports contract lawyer, but perhaps the likelihood he'll make it through the whole season should be factored more dramatically in his playing time and his pay -- and tmac's too. If we take say 3 million a year out of Yao's salary, and say 5 million out of Tmac's, I think that would get us an decent backup center and another von wafer type player -- and then we would do something like only play both of those players every other day or maybe only every other quarter or something?
It looks like the end is nigh, but I still have hope. That's all any of us can do at this point. At least in game two the team played better when Yao was out with foul trouble.
I'm still behind this team... no matter what Our season may be over... but its always a joy to watch our guys play with the most heart and hustle out of every team in the league. Even with all the injuries and losses, this team is still the most enjoyable to watch just because of their character. I'll still be cheering for a Rockets win tomorrow.
wow what a downer. Ive been out all day at a birthday pool party, just got home to check the scores of the other games and Im greeted with this news. Damn Damn Damn. I still expect our Rockets to die hard. Whatever happens, at least our Rockets are fighting hard and have given us some pride this year. That being said, this series still aint over. GO ROCKETS!!!
Yao Ming is a latter-day Bill Walton. I'm afraid he'll only get a championship if he is traded mid-season to a contender as a final piece, but he's too injury prone to be the centerpiece. Very demoralizing.
i was kinda waiting for the news on yao all day. got a hunch last night that it did not look good at all. then they say it's game time decision tomorrow. i went out for dinner with my family. came back and saw the news... my first reaction was strange. it was like "i told y'all..." then i went angry, like why does our team have to take this injury crap every freakin' time. along the way had a fight with my wife for nothing. then i felt sad for yao. a nice citizen and human being, a hard work, actually gets punished for playing hard; whilst crooks like kobe gets all the glories. and then i went wondering what the team should do long term with yao. finally, i tried to keep my hope up for the series; no matter how tiny that hope is. words barely describe my feelings...
I think we gotta just play roughhouse tomorrow. Artest's foul last night should be a prelude to the way we play tomorrow. That's the only chance we have--to play so rough that we get the Lakers out of sorts.
