Alright, so I've decided to try and find out who here is a legit Lakers fan. There is a lot of finger pointing going on in threads on Lakers love, and then every so often I see someone take a real shot at the Rockets. I'll ask for 6 things

1- have you ever lived in LA (or currently do)
2- what year you became a fan of the Lakers and why (birthplace, player, etc.)
3- who is your favorite laker (all time)
4- what is your best Laker memory
5- what is your worst Laker memory

Im not looking to try and ban you, Im just trying to get a read on what kind of LA 'fans' there are here... If you are a real fan, you wont be hiding.

Well, I'd first like to say I hate the Lakers as much as any die-hard Rockets fan on the board.

But I'd also like to say you do NOT have to live in, or even been to, the hometown of your favorite team to be a fan.

That's fine but if you're not die hard about a team you've never lived in or been to during their down years then you're just a bandwagon fan. I just feel like a lot of people are hopping on Kobe's nuts but when hes done and the Lakers are rebuilding all these suppposed 'fans' will go into hiding mode again...

This thread is stupid. I hate the Lakers too but all teams have bandwagoners. Yeah people are hopping on their bandwagon like it's a party bus but people were doing the exact same thing last year during the streak. In sports you have die hard fans and occasional fans and there is nothing wrong with that. I am not a big fan of the Texans or Astros but if I notice that they are start to play extremely well I will start to support them and root for them, there is nothing wrong with that. How about if we question you and your loyalty to the Rockets? Fans can choose for whatever team they want to root for and why that bothers you, I don't know?

1.I lived in LA since I came to the US 10 years ago(lived in boston for a year in between)
    2.Became a fan in 1999
3.Kobe, met him a bunch times and saw how he interacted with everyday people, polite , easy going guy
4.Horry's buzzer beater over the Kings
5.Kobe, Shaq, Malone and Payton lost to pistons along with Lakers gave up a 3-1 lead against the Suns, so depressing

Seriously, why do 'true fans' always get so pissy when bandwagoners get on board? The more fans the merrier.

1- have you ever lived in LA (or currently do)? Yes. Inland Empire.

3- who is your favorite laker (all time) Kobe Bryant.
4- what is your best Laker memory. Kobe's 2OT buzzer beater at Portland in 2004
5- what is your worst Laker memory. Finals defeat in 08 and 04

for real who says what kind of "fan" you have to be?

some people dont have the time/interest to keep up with a team year after year after year. so they get in when its positive, and when the team is playing for something.

    who really gives a damn

how many bandwagoners do you know that would join an opposing team's fan forum just because they are huge bandwagoners. This isn't about jumping on the Lakers bandwagon recently, I just find that most Lakers 'fans' are just Kobe fans, and really know almost nothing about the team itself.

And thanks for the response, TheMacster- now lets see if more of em come out...

Jumping on the bandwagon of your local team when they are doing well is one thing. Jumping on the bandwagon of the Lakers/Celtics/Yankees/Cowboys because everybody else is sad and shows a lack of true fanhood.

The only poster/fan on here who is INCREDIBLY credible and respectful is a Denver Nuggets fan.

Lakers fans...meh...more like Kobe-Only Fans. They probably couldn't name the team's roster.
