Per Jonathan Feigan's Blog: ...Yao turned his left ankle (he called it his ankle, foot and leg, but it is on the top of his foot below the calf; call it what you will) in the second quarter and finished the game limping. He will have a precautionary CAT scan today, and though his condition is not considered serious - he played 40 minutes and did not leave the game until the last minute - he does not have much time to get better...
Yao was the only true warrior last night !!! I'm proud of him and feel sad he has to put up with these nitwits, so called teammates. If I were Yao and I would be seriously injured, I'd sit the playoffs out and retire from the NBA. Then go back to China where he gets the respect he deserves and will probably have a longer career and a better chance of staying healthy. The US has destroyed this great human being from China
Anyone have any early news coming out of Houston? I don't want anything from Sohu or Sina...they aren't credible in the least bit.
Maybe you don't think Landry, Scola, Shane and Lowry play their hearts out every night? I don't care how much you like Yao, when you go dissing the whole team for your man love, you should consider posting on some Chinese-lover boards and not ClutchFans.
You got it the other way around..If china would take the vice grip off of yao's nuts, he would have rested all the NBA offseasons instead of getting overworked and stressed, making him weaker for what? To help a pathetic, over-matched China squad have an inkling of respectability..........
No, please do not get me wrong. I know they work hard but Yao is working so much harder it's not even close. Last night he was the only bright spot and it killed us that he got hurt. I'm saddened how people called him soft and everything after he got blocked twice. Kobe made some great plays, simple as that. With that being said, Yao has worked so hard every single game getting into the right position and still not getting the ball enough. Mainly though, Yao has played through injuries, come back from a collision to win the game for us @ LA and has to work harder than any1 else with the refs not calling it fair but also the pressure on his body frame. I'm just pissed off how the team came out in game 3, not in general. They came out with no energy and the Rockets could've won the game if they went to Yao more. Yao was fighting through injuries and still being very effective on the court while others were stinking the place up heavily. That bothered me.
You do know that Mao was a commie! Most older American like myself don't think too highly of him so my advice to you is to change your sig. This is a basketball GARM so maybe you want to take it into the D&D.
What was all these **** about?Yao is Rox player.there was a lots of chinese dissing yao and also there was a lots american did the same thing.but this man is hurt right now,can we just pray for him and rox,get thing going,so we have chance to beat LA. as Ros fan,I am proud of everyone of them who played with their herat, courage.this should all about basketball.
This is why I seldom post in the GARM. Yao gives good effort, but he certainly doesn't outwork Scola or Battier. Yao does things no one near his size has ever been able to do, sure they have problems getting him the ball, but Yao also has trouble catching/holding unto the ball under pressure when he does recieve it. It's unfortunate Yao got injured..but saying his teammates don't deserve him, tonight of all nights is being pretty myopic.
With all due respect, it's just a fun expression since it rhymes with Yao and everybody knows that if Yao had the spirit of Mao he would turn into a beast. Personally I do not have a problem with communism, especially because the way it is portrayed by the western media. I have read a book on Mao and he's not as bad as he may be perceived but let's not get into that. Don't take offense to it, that's all I'm saying.
I was just overreacting after a tough loss and it's about the team in general not working hard enough to get Yao the ball. Also with the injury he went through a lot last night, he still did more than most players last night in terms of hustle, bringing energy and effort and scoring.
Yeah, give up and run away from the NBA. Go back to China where he can play with such "true warriors" as his Olympic teammates. You know, the guys that couldn't even get better than a #8 rank while playing sub-NBA teams, with an All-World center leading them. The Rockets are sometimes frustrating to watch (especially Aaron Brooks), but Morey has done a damn good job of constructing a well-balanced roster. This is the best team Yao has EVER played with, including the ones from China (as if that needed to be said).
All they had to do is sign elson, magloire, ratliff, or mbenga this past summer for less than barry's money. Or they couldve drafted jordan instead of dorsey, we would have a backup.
in a hindsight you may have a point. but what we need to do now is looking forward, not back. les has not been shy of spending money on big contracts since he became the boss. but his "principle" of staying under the tax line no matter what is not gonna cut it given our current situation.
