Sohu Sports has this latest update for Big Yao's left ankle problem.

It's from Zhang Yi, the Sohu Sports reporter resident in Houston.

Stupid Big Yao. Why did he not voice this out earlier if there is this lingering problem on his ankle?

Wow...so pretty much the whole season Yao has not even been laying at 100%?! Incredible, thats a true warrior. But I wonder what did he do to aggravate it so badly in game 3?

I am sorry but that's so dumb of Yao to bring it up now. How about he just admit his tremendous frame puts alot of pressure on his joints and it's tough.

Ok i dont trust these sources at all, it seems something always is lost in translation. He could of just said he's tweaked the ankle throughout the season, as in had minor sprains every once in a while, but it got translated to him playing on a bum ankle, with the same injury, all year...

Well,as what I saw above the quotation of OP with that translation,I guarantee you 100% that the translation is correct this time, nothing lost in it.I could read Chinese,it's absolutely not a good sign for us if this source is credible.

Doesn't surprise me, guys play with injuries, knee tendinitis is a common one. Ever see the locker room after a game, guys have ice bags around their knees, have their feet in ice buckets.

Don't even want to hear it. It's the playoffs. If you're injured, go sit down.

So when Yao Ming had his knee smashed in Game 1, you think he should've just gone to the locker room?

What kind of fan are you?

I read this page and His translation is right. The final sentance's meaning is "He played with a wounded ankle the whole season."

I dont think it is a big problem. Yao will be back in Game 4! The big guy would have to stay in court for over 40min. Lacking of stamina is really anxious.

I remember asking a doctor about why Houston athletes usually have injuries towards thier ankle, backs and feet and he said that because of the humidity. I guess as a Houston sports fan we are doom to always have these problems.

What an awful time to bring this up. It really sounds like an excuse, and I hate excuses.

It probably wasn't Yao that said this, probably some Chinese reporter trying to stick up for Yao.
