Is anyone familiar with AT&T DSL and how they work when it comes to connecting houses? I am moving to a newly built house in the country...the address is Alvin, TX but its right outside the city limits.

The house is wired on the outside but AT&T did not run the lines on the outside yet. A tech is scheduled to come out in 2 weeks but when I ordered the DSL service they told me the only option is Express which is just 768 Kbps down. This doesn't make sense to me so maybe someone can explain because the house on the same lot as ours...75 feet away...can get the Pro DSL at 3.0 Mbps down.

Different AT&T reps say different things. One said that because the house is not wired yet the system can't show them other options while another rep said that even though the house right next to us can get 3.0 Mbps our house maybe connected to a different line which does not support that.

    I hate the country :(

I am an AT&T engineer. Send an email through the board, and I can shed some light on this for you. Most likely, the loop length is not in system or incorrect.
