I don't really know why I sit on draft boards pleading my case when it won't have an effect on the outcome but yet I come back again and again. If we want to be a playoff caliber team then its easy, we trade down, we get a proven post, and we draft Caron Butler at 3-5 (whichever pick we come away with), and at #15 we take Hilario or one of the other nice power forwards left. Optimal scenario for the Rockets organization for years to come, we do the trade for Odom, if they'll give us Kandi then cool. Then we'd have the #8 and the #12 and the #15. If we pray to the bball Gods maybe Butler will drop and we can get him at 8. if not we can package our number 15 w/ Kenny Thomas for the rights to him. Hell I'd trade the number #15 and the #12 to get him. then we use the 8 to get Hilario or Drew Gooden or somebody like that. My lineup for next year:

    C Kandi/ Cato
PF Griffin?/Hilario (or another good post player)/ Mo T
    SF Odom/Butler/ Griffin
    SG Mobley/ 2nd rounder
    PG Francis/ Norris

Ladies and Gents that scenario would get us DEEP into the playoffs for years to come. Stop believing the hype. Think for yourselves. We could turn our picks into Butler, Hilario, Odom, and Kandi and all we'd lose would be Glenn Rice and Kenny Thomas. Tell me, seriously, could it get any better than that?

That line-up has Portland written allover it, they have stockpiled talent, and they still suck and too many problems.

With your line-up, i could see those kind of problems.

PORTLAND WAS A QUARTER AWAY FROM GREATNESS. give that lineup a good coach and we win the championship in 04. look at sacramento, a whole bunch of talented players but they accept their roles and they are the best team in the league. they keep it together. kandi doesn't have to be the star, neither does odom, or mobley. i can't judge the characters of rookies yet but griffin was supposed to be a problem and he isn't at all.

That lineup you give is a team full of whiners and some fatasses with a serious case of the munchies...

Any lineup w/ Ming in it would lack biggness. Anybody that thinks this cat is worth all the trouble is wrong. He is, W/ A LOT OF WORK, the next Dirk. This guy has no defense, something that our team needs desparately, and on offense he can't do anything that Steve or Cat can't do. He might be a great small forward (chuckle) but the next superstar is Caron Butler, mark my words.
