No, I don't throw elbows. I do like to bump people who set picks though. I don't do a football block like Fisher, but I like to make sure the picker gets the impact he was hoping for.

    That'd be a travel.

When your playing vs a better team, you got to get physical. But not really intentional, more of a clear out I got this rebound type of elbow throwing...

Sure, when playing a real basketball game I definitely throw elbows. Never in a pickup game though...I don't like the idea of potentially getting hurt on cement.

I've never thrown an elbow, but I have run through a kid setting a screen before. Knocked him down, foul called on me.

However, I did not wind up and nail the guy when he was running over to set the screen.

Man, that is a great story to bust out every now and then - especially part 2 when he is having the worst day of his life and the false tooth falls out of his mouth while he is telling us what a horrible day he had.

Basketball is a contact sport. Most guys dont use elbows but there's always that 1 guy out of 12 who makes it not fun with too much physicality

I've never thought that I thrown elbows. I do stick them out when grabbing a rebound(not while boxing out) or catching a pass. Isn't that what you're supposed to do.

I do not. I drive it into the hole that's what she said and hold it tight like Mario Ellie.
Ah, yes... you have big boobs? Are you a girl? Did you just give birth? Or... never mind...

    Or did you mean DaDakotas?

nope, even though i'm pretty small 5' 10", i usually have to guard the opposing team's big man, i'm used to receiving elbows but i never throw them, although i do sometimes just barrel through whoever is trying to set a pick on me...i just use my body and slam into them, ala derek fisher, although not that violently but just enough to give the signal that i don't want to get picked

I am like 6'4'', which is usually pretty tall in the pickup games I play. I don't throw bows when going for rebounds, but if I'm posting someone and they're really asking for it I have no problem making solid shoulder-chest contact. No intentions of hurting them or anything, just some physicality.

Played in our social comp grand final the other week.. game was called off with 30 seconds to play.. Other team started an all in brawl when they were losing. Guy threw a king hit from across the pack that hit one of our players in the back of the head.. disgraceful act, then they tried to palm it off as just part of the game and how nobody got seriously hurt so it was ok..

Scumbags.. I hate crap like that. Yeah nobody got hurt but they could of seriosuly..

I never threw elbows but in grade school and high school I did get into a few altercations where people tried that crap on me.

Much like our Chuck Hayes, I was a small power forward who was much better on defense than offense. Because of this, I pissed off a lot of girls bigger than me when they couldn't post me up or out rebound me.

The one that is most memorable is the time that some girl had tried to take the ball from me after I secured a rebound. She was bigger, but I was stronger. While trying to pull the ball away from her, instead of using my elbows to clear, I threw my weight behind it and I ended up throwing her off the ball and to the ground.

That's when she hopped up and took a swing. I avoided and the ref broke it up.

I think it's just that people can't control their emotions. Personally the most I ever did to rough someone up is in soccer. I was a brute using my shoulders and hips to knock people off of me or the ball, but I never threw an elbow.

No, I do not. At least I think I don't, nobody's really ever said anything. I usually barrel through people often times turning the ball over in the process because of my terrible ball-handling skills.
