Ok this is in response to all the rumors floating around Cfans that Artest will demand more money (I believe he will too), especially if he and Yao lead us to the title this year. Not only will he demand it, he will deserve it. So which one would you rather have out of curiosity (and obviously we'd all like to have both, so don't post that thinking you are clever). Artest sign with us a 4 year contract: (Good because can you imagine Yao + him + someone from the '10 class of players once Tmac's contract expires) OR Rockets 2008-2009 NBA Champions.: (Good because 1st championship in 14 years , but it will have an asterix because Michael Jordan wasn't playing oh well ) Basically do you think the Rockets have a shot to get 2+ rings with Artest signing with us 4 years or is the guarantee of a championship this year better?
This a no brainer. I would trade anyone on the team including Yao for guaranteed Championship this year. IBTL

This is what we play for A Championship who cares who we sign or dont sign. (now if you say sign Yao to 7yrs or Championship this year n Yao leaves) would be diff haha

No team is crazy enough to offer him $12M/year. Deke had a Yao Ming bonus which was described as being "very generous" in his Peak deal. So the Rockets could have a Yao Ming bonus, no income tax, and a poor market (the economy and few teams with cap space or with the right situation) in their favor.
