How about Rice and the number 1 for Rose or Curry and the number 2. Take Ming to go with Rose or Butler/Dunleavy to go with Curry and we solve the 3 and 5 spots. We can then get Amare or Nachbar or whoever at 15 for depth.

That would really hack the Chinese. Besides Chicago will pull a fast one and draft Ming instead of Williams. Why not just have the Rockets and Chicago agree (blackmail) that the Rockets won't trade the pick. We take Ming and Rose/Curry and they still get Williams. The Chinese are happy, and Chicago has to pay less money (#2 as opposed to #1) for the same player -- and the Rockets are safe.

From a realistic standpoint, Chicago would never part with Rose or Curry just for that assurance. They might part with Fizer and/or the #30 pick in the second round.

If we get Fizer for doing nothing more than using our pick on Ming I'll will **** my pants. I can see Fizer, #15 for C Butler. Tht woudl be SWEET!!!

Just keep it to tire tracks :D because you could get Butler for Fizer straight up and still have the #15 for a project. However, how does Fizer and #15 for Dunleavy sound? I would rather have a true SF than an All-Star SG playing SF.

As a Bulls fan, I agree that Chicago wouldn't consider trading Curry or Rose to switch picks.

Fizer is another story, because though we like him as our sixth man, deep down like any player he wants to be in a place where he can start (Chandler is our PF, and Fizer can't consistently keep up with small forwards, though they can't guard him either.)

I could see the Bulls giving Fizer and maybe the #30 to switch. That is, if Krause really likes Jay Williams first. He could like Caron Butler more, and if Krause is satisfied with Crawford and confident he can resign Best, maybe he's hoping Houston just doesn't draft Butler with the first pick.

The Brand/Chandler deal completely blindsided us Bulls fans last year, and though it's turned out great, I hated it at first. There could be another deal like that for both our teams this year. That's why GM's get paid not to listen to us.

I'd like your opinion on something.

IMO, Krause will not give the Rockets a pick. I think he will settle for whomever is left.

The Knicks want Yao badly. Would the Bulls take either Sprewell or Allen Houston + #7 for the Bulls pick (Ming) + Fizer?

Maybe if Kurt Thomas was included, it would make more sense. The Bulls need a veteran big man who can still play defense, rebound, and backup BOTH Curry and Chandler. Kurt Thomas can do that better then Fizer.

Also, right now our shooting guard position is a big question mark (assuming Rose is SF.) Hassel certainly played very well for a 2nd rounder, but he isn't a big-time talent. Eddie Robinson is a big-time athlete at 6'9, but his injuries and lack of starting experience make him a question mark. And Crawford, though 6'5 and an amazing shooter, is far from strong enough to defend SG's. Certainly, Sprewell or Houston would improve us at that position, unless we got maybe a Caron Butler in the draft.

However, Krause has stated many times that his goal is to win a championship, nothing else. Certainly, if he was just interested in immediate improvement, he wouldn't have traded Brand season. So if Jay Williams is available at #2, then convential wisdom says Krause will take him, start Hassell/E-Rob/Crawford at the SG, and likely not resign Travis Best. If Jay Williams isn't available, they can resign Best and start Crawford at PG, and maybe use Caron Butler at SG alongside Rose at SF.

Bottom line, I don't think that trade is likely for the Bulls because they have enough other attractive options, but I certainly wouldn't be that suprised to see them make SOME move on draft day.

I don't believe there is any such things as "fast ones" in the NBA draft. Unless I'm mistaken, the Rockets would have to select the first player, and then trade the rights to Chicago. So, Chicago couldn't take Ming with the #1 by surprise.
