Game 3 should be ours, especially with Fisher out and the refs trying to make amends for Game 2. Although, I think whoever wins Game 4 on Sunday wins the series...

The wildcard here is Wafer's status, what's the latest on this?

I'd prefer someone stomp on his hand so he can't shoot than giving him a potentially fatal knock to the head.

Kobe may want be MJ too much in this case because he might get some broken ribs courtesy of Ron Artest if he isn't too careful.

    DD,

Just curious, what was your take on the Rockets' realistic chances against the Lakers before the 2nd Round began? I was honestly proud of our team for winning Round 1 without any expectations for Round 2 because I felt that the Rockets were undersized and undermanned as it is (esp without Mutombo).

I really just wanted to enjoy this series and watch the Rockets play all out (which they have). After seeing games 1 and 2 come and pass, it's become blatantly clear to me that the Rockets are a tougher and better team than the Lakers. I dont think the Lakers can beat the Rockets straight up in a 7 game series without: 1) playing a PERFECT (they shot lights out in game 2) GAME 2) Officiating BIAS 3) Kobe has to put up big numbers.

    Your take?

You're nuts if you're not pleased with the series being 1-1 and stealing one in LA. Stealing one in LA was really our only hope of having a chance to win this series. We accomplished that. The Lakers played about as well as they could ever hope and had all the calls/breaks go in their favor.

You better believe Adelman won't allow Yao to be such a non-factor again. And even so, the sheer fact that we were able to battle back and make Game 2 interesting despite getting nothing from Yao is a testament to how good we are!

We may have lost but we definitely have some momentum in our favor. Now we get to play them two games on our homecourt. Let's take advantage of it.

I'm glad they got home court but I agree with Adelman and Yao, homecourt is fragile at best.

Since I assume that Kobe will be left untouched by the league, the series could very well be one to forget as far as basketball is concerned. Dirty, cheap shot play is not enjoyable. For all of his skill this -- and his personality -- ruin any enjoyment of his skill (for me, at least).

To me I'll be glad when this is over. It will be like coughing up phlegm... a satisfying relief but not enjoyable.

i am happy we are 1:1. but i'd be happier if it was 2:0 Rockets. we got robbed in game 2. and i'd rather LA thinks they are still unbeatable like how they did it in game 1. Give 'em all the credits for i care as long as we win the series.

Yes we TOOK game 1. We led for most of the game, responded to every run the Lakers made, and showed a lot of grit.

Kobe was making a high percentage of long range contested jumpshots in game 2. Kobe shoots 40% from long 2 range on the year, I imagine its a lot less than that when its contested. Rockets have a different defense on Yao to look at and will make adjustments. If Phil stands pat on his Yao defense from game 2 to game 3 Yao will again go for 20 and 10.

we couldn't have asked for more...the league would not let the fakers go down 2-0...so 1-1 split is all we could ask for...we just stole what the lakers fought for all season....HOme Court

Almost spot on to what I thought, the Rockets are actually much better than I gave them credit for.....they just have mental lapses in the regular season which cost them games, but in the playoffs concentration levels are more consistent and it shows...the Rockets are better than their record while the Lakers are really worse than theirs.

    Agree

The Rockets were a .700 + team after T-Mac and Rafer were gone. Thats even with Landry missing a few weeks.

We can definitely sweep the lakers, but the refs already prevent that.

I sincerely hope the refs try and make up for game 2. Unfortunately, I'd be surprised if anything like that happens. Read my sig. The NBA is a business not a non-profit society.

It is better than the 2nd. game against Blazers. I am pround of the team. Our team striped Fakers' shinning cover and revealed their filthy aspect. Let's crash them at hometown.
