My question to you all is, what does Adelman have to do now? IMO he needs to blow up about how this game was officiated because we all know the Lakers will always have the officials on their side. I just feel with everything that happened, our Coach needs to make it clear Houston will not tolerate that kind of bias officiating.
Tell Yao to stop getting stupid fouls. Have Scola make his lay-ups. Get Von on the correct wavelength.
Oh, and make sure the team STOPS TURNING THE BALL OVER. 35 turnovers in 2 games? Come on, now.
The turnovers have been a problem all year. Whatever he can do to minimize them would be great. I also agree about Luis. He needs to be stronger going up for shots.
We should be getting those calls on their bigs for setting illegal screens and wrapping their arms around Yao here in the Toyota Center. Nobody on their team can guard Yao, he just needs to come out, set a high pick and then try to get open for the roll. I think he'll adjust like he did for game 3 against Portland.
adelman knows all to well what is happening. 2002 my friends, everyone remembers it, he was screwed out of that series, just like he is being screwed out of games this series. the 1st round the refs were bad, but never enough to take us out of the game, but last night, i think the refs didn't know what to do we had managed to stay in it despite their awfulness, but then the ejections and technicals became too much
rick needs to find an enforcer on this team to set these laker punks straight. someone like hayes whom we could live without if suspended for a game or two. i cant wait to see kobes face attack hayes elbow!
I think the main thing he needs to do is not get distracted by things he can't control like officials or cheap shots by the Lakers. Focus on the game and strategies to not turn the ball over while helping Yao to become more effective. Don't let the distractions keep him from doing his job.
More precisely he needs to make sure the team isn't distracted by it. I'm not worried about Adelman himself.
Adelman's a great coach and one who knows how to deal with volatile players. I think he will figure out how to channels the player's frustrations into being productive on the court.
Tell AB to not worry about ****ing up when it comes to shooting... tell the WHOLE team about turnovers...if we were averaging 6 turnovers a game in this series, it would be 2-0.
less turnovers, and please get yao the ball, i mean he has to get at least 20 points cause thats the magic formula
He already responded last series to the lack of touches Yao gets. He put it on Yao to position himself better. He can soak up more fines and complain about the referee jobs and the blind eye they turn towards us. Squeaky wheel treatment goes down in every series.
Too many times last night, Yao was positioned on the low block on the left side of the floor and never left it, he got fronted then stood there. Gasol continued fronting but Yao never came across the lane, never flashed to the elbow, he just stood there with Gasol fronting him. I was really frustrated with the lack of energy Yao showed last night. Yao has beaten fronting before, and it depends on him playing with alot of energy and moving around the lane, plus smart play by the perimeter guys. But, last night Yao only worked to get open 2 or 3 times, and it was late in the game and he received the pass then for the most part passed it back out. Its easy to blame the back court, but last night was an example of Yao playing with too little energy to beat the fronting defense.
Say what you want about T-MAC and I know I might get flamed for even mentioning him...but he has some sick ball-handling skills and I would much rather have him handling the ball that Artest or even Brooks. I like our chances without him, but I wish someone could handle and pass like him.
you dont do anything, last night's incidents basically will have the same effect as Adelman's complaints had in the portland series. Once its brough up, the league tends to cover their ass by making sure those calls are made the next game, maybe next 2 games, then they go back to their usual calls. This series is very similar to last, we take game 1, lose 2, give up 40, bad calls made....look for game 3 to start tight and LA's big men will get in foul trouble early.
