I feel like saying "Happy! Happy!" in a Mugatu voice. As long as we don't don't let them get into our heads I'm feeling a serious beatdown of the LakePeople in game 3!
Kobe and Co. made comments after game 1 about now having a challenge on their hands and it may not be a be a cake walk to the finals as some people thought. I'd like to here Artest make a few jabs and say some similar comments about the Lakers now giving the Rockets a nice challenge.
I thought we were going to lose game 2, I picked the rockets in 6. But its not that we lost the game its the WAY we lost it. 2 dirty ass plays that the lakers got away with. We have them where we want them. After watching these 2 games the Lakers thought they were just going to cruise pass the Rockets but now they know we are REDdy!!
I hope the rockets players wouldn't feel this way. The rockets are a great team. They need to stay hungry for win! They should feel that they were robbed, and should be 2-0 now. I remember Brent Barry said it before, the difference between a great team and a good team is that, when a great team lead 10 pts, they want to lead 20pts.
my feeling exactly. i don't know about others, but honestly, i can even accept a 4-1 defeat. if we fight and play them all out, it will meet my minimum expectations. after all, we're playing with a $20+ mil hole on the roster. try to take their $20mils away and see what happens...
that's true, too. turnovers have been our problem when playing the lakers consistently. definitely need to take care of the ball a lot better; especially when under pressure.
We winning game one (and the style and confidence level we played in that game) really turned the lakers on panic mode. Let's just get the jobs done at home then we are good!
Yao hit it right on the head: there is no real home court advantage. Lakers own us at Toyota Center because the refs are still the same old crooked aholes they are in LA and the crowd is not fully behind the team. It took the crowd until game 6 and a possible advance to the 2nd round for them to even come close to how crowds are in Boston, Portland etc.
Love being 1-1. However, beating LA 3 times at Toyota is gonna be a tall order. Rockets may win it all if that happens.
I'm not happy that Phil Jackson finally took his head out of his *** and realized that the best way to neutrailize Yao is to front him. We showed flashes of beating the front agaisnt Portland, can we do it again? God I hope so. But yes, coming back 1-1 is exactly what I had hoped for
You have to be happy. We are underdogs. Nobody expected us to win even 1 game. And for us to come out and steal game 1 and than fight in game 2 (we could have won if we hadn't had that break in the 3rd quarter) it was big, But now we have to be careful. We know we can beat them, but they still are confident. It is a no-home-court-adventage series and we will have to fight hard even in TC.
Yeah, we have to be happy w/ stealing 1. It just sucks that game 2 ended the way it did. I don't mind losing, but to have that game turn into a circus was maddening. I agree that our home games are not much of an advantage. This series is going to be tough no matter where we play.
Happy, happy and happy, especially we kept fighting back even when we were down 5 points, 10 points and 15 points... We proved to ourselves and the world that we ARE a match-up of lakers. Let's move on to take care of business in game 3. It will really set the tone and tell the world that we mean to take the series. 3, 2, 1... Launch!
You've got to be upset about each and every squandered opportunity come playoff time. You can't predict what's going to happen in the next game, so you need to claw and scratch and exploit each opportunity to win a game, particularly on the road against a league favored team like the Lakers. But I'm happy with the way we played and the fact that despite their dirtiest cheap shots and poser tough guy act, we stood our ground because when you stand up to a fake bully, they ultimately stand down. I'm glad that the sporting world is focusing on Kobe's antics right now (although Manny Ramirez just threw us off the front pages). And I'm glad that we're 3 wins from the Western Conference Finals.
I'm happy but the players better not be. They can beat those wannabes if the starters play with more poise. They took a step back in that deparment in game 2 from the previous game. Still haven't fixed the problem of turnovers and rebounding.
Posters need to understand this. The game before, they got away with it, this game it opened the lakers transition game. Can we get shane to help on offense.
DD, I'm gonna take it a step further. Eventhough I am satisfied, the main idea was for us to get into their heads. They really thought this was going to be a cake walk. We won game 1, and in game 2 I feel the Lakers threw their best punch(no pun intended). They know that they are in for a dogfight, and now we are exposing their glaring weakness. TOUGHNESS!!! When you know you have a weakness, you try to over-compensate by doing more in that area than what needs to be done. Which is why you saw that garbage in gm2. You guys know that isn't the lakers! And don't 4get that they shot over 80% in the 1st quarter. I feel very good about this series!
