Insert Jack Bauer references http://www.tmz.com/2009/05/06/kiefer-charged-with-crime/ We've confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland will be charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with the headbutting incident earlier this week. Kiefer headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough at an event after-party on Monday -- an attack Jack says was completely unprovoked. We're told Kiefer says he did it after Jack pushed Brooke Shields. The New York Daily News broke the story. Kiefer will show up at the NYPD and get a desk appearance ticket and his arraignment date will be set. A rep from the L.A. City Attorney's office tells TMZ they will contact the NYPD and the D.A. to get details and then decide if they will try and revoke Kiefer's probation. He's currently on probation for a DUI.

It happened at an after-party for the Met Costume Institute Gala Monday night. We're told witnesses say the alleged victim -- Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough -- allegedly knocked Brooke Shields over and Kiefer saw it happen. The witnesses say Kiefer went over to the man and told him to apologize to her. At that point they say McCollough pushed Kiefer and the actor responded with a headbutt. A police report was taken and the incident is under investigation. Complicating it for Kiefer -- he's on probation in L.A. for a DUI, and one of the terms is that he obey all laws. No word on whether L.A. prosecutors will pursue the matter.

My next door neighbor was one of his Fox PR reps during Season 1 and 2 of 24. She said he's a great guy but requires constant supervision.
Hmm...seems like a violation of his 5 year probation for DUI. I guess he gets to go back to jail...not sure for how long. Someone mentioned that Keifer signed on for "24" for next season. Given he is currently dying of an infectious bio-agent on the show, one would assume he gets a last minute cure in order to come back to the show next season...unless they plan on using him primarily for flashbacks and turning it into a "Lost"-like timeline. lol. I'm thinking that if he does go back to jail for a while...they should re-do the ending of this season to just let him die of the bio-weapon virus. He would have to re-film the ending before he goes to jail, though. I'm still left wondering per this current season's ending if his daughter actually does come back to save him through that experimental treatment? Or, the President had the CDC looking for a cure. Maybe they come up with something? I dunno. Brooke Shields sure does need a lot of standing up for. First it was from Tom Cruise. Now it's from this fashion designer guy. Maybe Jack Bauer has gotten into Keifer's head or something? What was he thinking?
