You want to know who's weak? Battier. Weak ass Battier need to show Kobe no respect and foul him hard to make him think twice.
The violent gesture was him trying to show ref that kobe elbowed him, but to refs and obviously to you , it was a cut throat sign.
Way too easy to make that kind of assumption. I'll agree though that the Lakers and Kobe are smart...they will bait Ron again and again and again. But Ron did show a level of maturity in his post game interview that I hadn't seen before...if we are to believe him, then the only future retaliation we see from him will be reflected in the box score.
The majority of people posting in this thread ARE MEN...right? Cause ya'll act like Ron did it TO you on purpose. 99% of the people who actually disagree with laying down like a lamb have made it clear - Ron should NOT have been ejected. It was a bad BAD call...period! Stand up for something in your life boys. Yeah, it may hurt and it may suck and it may seem like the wrong thing to others but if you're convicted to do it, do it! We finally have a team that's showing that 'heart' and now we're back to the sweet days of asking politely. "Dear Mr. Lakers team. If we keep laying down at your feet, will you be sweet to us?" "Yes, we will, little Rockies - yes, we will. (Hey Odom! Get the tire iron - we've got us some lamb chops for dinner!)
God.awful.post. If someone intentionally elbows you in the face, you don't say anything? Because that is ALL Ron did. He merely pointed out to the world that he would whip Kobe's ass if he pulled that again, and that there is no place for that kind of dirty play...He did NOTHING else. That is called "not being a complete and utter b****."
And that would be fine -- exactly the way Kobe did it, where it couldn't be seen. Ron traded a hidden cheap shot that cost Kobe nothing for a center-stage confrontation that cost us our best player on the court.
Shane is to nice of a guy, he should have gave kobe a nice hard foul on the fast break after Ron Ron got ejected. BS game
Artest is not the player whos gonna let kobe punk him... He is not Dirk Nowitski... You can really F*** somebody up by throwing a cheap shot like that... if standing up for yourself is weak and backing down is tough i rather be weak... An elbow to the throat is a foul in the ufc but not in the nba.... Makes sense...
Okay, you can just keep responding to everyone's statements with "BS." Hell, even if we had a chance to win the game, Artest wasn't supposed to be ejected. Everyone knew that. If you think we could've won, that's just a disagreement between us, but you cannot honestly believe that Artest was going Gung-ho trying to get himself ejected from the game.
look, will, I agree with most of what you said, but at this point, you can not blame ron for the matter. this guy plays with his heart. just have a look at what he said during postgame interview. I am not as smart, calm, controlling myself well as you are, will, so if I was ron, I would do exactly the same thing. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mk6y-ViKLuc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mk6y-ViKLuc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Cool opinion..i agree 80% for the next 20%, Ron is smart this game. he didn't punch Kobe on the face , but he stand out , put Kobe's dirty play under spotlight. and a good warning to Kobe. Ron's act is needed, it's a sign to LA: WANT FIGHTING,ROX DONT SCARE.WANT PLAYING BALL,PLAY IT CLEAN!! also i can tatally undersdand when refs don't care all these Kobe has done ,for the NBA wants L.A. this city to go to the final bring them more profile. that's just NBA's WEAK
I wouldn't have ejected him for it. I'm just saying it looked to me like that's when Crawford made the decision to eject him. Which is why it was stupid of Ron to do it -- he had already said his piece to Kobe and was about to escape with just a T.
Will, it's time to look at historical evidence and lay aside the theatrics. This isn't journalism 101, it's playoff basketball. The Rockets aren't going to get into a cheap shot war with the Lakers because they can't beat them at their game. This is all about shedding light on a situation (which you could afford to do because you didn't have a realistic shot at the game). The Rockets are too physical for the Lakers, and that's why we are in their heads.
Shane is in Kobe's head. First game Kobe tried to lure Shane to get upset, but Shane pretty much ignores him. 2nd Game...Kobe is...ALL GAME LONG. Kobe's running his mouth, talking about how Shane can't guard him. Why even say so? If Shane can't guard you then why proclaim that so loud? Shane is in his head, When Kobe scored on Brewer he's not saying "HE CAN'T GUARD ME!!!" because it's a given...everyone knows. But game 1 Shane proved it, hell game 2 Shane proved it because Kobe still BARELY got in the paint. What Shane does is correct by ignoring Kobe's taunts. What Ron did is ALSO correct. EVERY championship team has a guy like this. A guy that will stand up for his teammates. Yeah the Lakers won tonight, but the Lakers learned they are not going to get away with pushing us around. That is key here.
Now we're talkin'... End Kobe's season? I agree with that - Battier should take his knee out and kick him in the temple on his way down. Then when he's laying there, writhing in pain, drop to a knee and whisper in his ear, "I betcha I can guard your punk ass now, b****!"
Exactly, Artest went straight to the refs and said he elbowed me in the throat. They didn't do anything, so Ron's next action is to tell Kobe he needs to quit playing dirty. I wished he would of punked Kobe's sorry a$$.
haha, likelihood of this = 1%!!! Battier's gonna ignore Kobe's disrespectful attitude. I'm having a dilemma, cuz what Kobe's saying is sorta similar to Deke doing the finger wag. But it just seems way more disrespecful and arrogant for some reason.
Right...but the biggest difference in these two games has been Kobe's shooting. We had control of game 1 pretty much all the way through and there were much less cheap shots. This game it was like a boxing match out there and it gave them an advantage. Every thing the Lakers do is now under a microscope...Ron did that...he put it out in the open. Are you okay with the Lakers continuing to have the advantage via dirty play?
