UH and Rice battling it out for first place in CUSA this weekend at Cougar Field.

UH takes the first game, 7-4.

Come out and watch some great baseball.

    GO COOGS!

Rice wins the series 2 games to 3 and the season series 4 games to 5. The Coogs made the last 2 games tight, so credit to them.

Despite injuries decimating the pitching staff (Berry, Ojala, and Fazio), Rice has held up and is still in position to accomplish all of its preseason goals. Possibly Graham's best coaching performance at Rice, given the number of newcomers on the team, the lack of dominant pitching, and the injuries.

Uhhh, UH did NOT take the first game of the Silver Glove series, they lost the first two. They won the first game of this weekend only. They lost 4 of 5 to lose YET ANOTHER silver glove series to the Owls. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think UH has ever won the silver glove series. Ever.

I ventured over to the 3rd Ward (safely, thank God) and caught today's game. UH kept it interesting, but Rice's big bats prevailed yet again.

What really puzzles me about the Coogs is that they have several elite pitchers with fantastic stuff (like Donnie Joseph, Wes Musick, Ty Stuckey, Chase Dempsay) but they cannot put it together as a team and win ballgames. Coaching problem? Methinks so

According to this link, Rice has lost the Silver Glove series once.

"The season-long series between these two teams has been known as the Silver Glove series since 1998, which Rice has lost only once. Overall, Rice leads the all-time series between their cross-town rivals by a record of 77-68."

All time, Rice has won 77 baseball games against the Cougars and UH has won 68.

Houston leads football 24-10 and basketball 51-14.

That's nice. We've completely owned the Coogs in baseball over the past 12-15 years. You can continue to hang your hat on those victories from 20 years ago and before.....before Rice became a national power

Also, regarding football....what a beating Rice put on the Coogs last Fall! Scoreboard! :D

I was talking about Friday's game. It was the first of a three game series. I didn't say UH took the first game of the Silver Glove.

Yes, UH has won a Silver Glove. Third Ward is awesome. Frenchy's rocks. I went there again. But I hope you get jacked next time you're there with your Rice gear. They don't like you folk too much in that area.

lol actually I felt pretty safe in the stands, considering there were more Rice fans than UH fans in attendance.

That's a lie. I was there. And quit backtracking. You admitted you're a titty baby in Third Ward.

You just witnessed the meltdown of a Coog fan. The proper terminology is, "he coog'd it"
