And I don't know why. I know they aren't "in" these days, but I'm so sick of being clean shaven. My wife doesn't care at least. I'm only 10 days in, but this morning I was about to shave and thought "you know what, to hell with it." Anyone else with a beard?

Same here. I am 20, 3 chin hairs, one sideburn out growing the other. No mustache. All I want is for my chin hair to hang.
I can grow a beard NONE. Mine is always patch... a'la Mexican "indian" mestizo style... cannot do the European thick beard at all.
Just get a cat to lick those chin hairs off and thank God you don't have to shave every morning. It is really a pain in the ass, even with the All Shaving Solution Answer-whatchmacallit Oil type stuff that I found on here thanks to another poster. I hate shaving but I can't grow a beard in my current job (or marriage for that matter...)
I had one while working at a client site in Toronto, but had to shave it when I came back stateside...
I usually keep a grizzly beard for a few months then shave and re-grow it. I hate shaving and I like the way it looks, although everyone I know hates it.
I see many guys wearing full beards these days, myself included (although I clean up my neck and upper cheeks). And if your wife doesn't mind it, then you really don't need to worry about what is "in."
A friend of mine and I think we grow really fast beards, and we were going to have a contest, but we could never finalize the rules. I have dark hair, and he has light hair, so we had to give up on the "facial reflectivity" measurement (aka "facial albedo"). Then we thought we could start growing at exactly the same minute, then grow for a few weeks, then shave, and carefully use a micro-strainer to catch all the tiny beard hairs. Then, the person with the greatest mass of beard hair, weighed precisely, would be the winner. Or you could just measure the average length of the beard hairs -- and the longest hairs win. But then we thought, what if one of our average beard hair thicknesses is just a lot greater than the other person's. What if my beard hair is twice as thick, per hair, but there are fewer hairs... We literally could never figure out what "growing a beard faster" means. But if I skip shaving for three days, which I do very often, people assume I'm growing a beard. It's pretty fast.
