FUNNY he was on ESPN 710 AM in LA before game 1 saying the Lakers take the series in 5 in a cake walk.

backpedal much? the lakers can still win the series in five so stick to what you said earlier

This struck me, reading the media and Lakers fans thoughts. Supposedly LA played their worst game possible, while we played our best. Clueless.

None of them mentioned that the refs are going to slow down the Rocket's hard nose defense tonight.

If the Rockets can overcome the referee's in the first half and keep it within 5 points they will win tonight.

I was also puzzled by Adande's comment about maxing out our scoring...

Yao, Ron, and Aaron played great offensive games...but most of our supporting cast was MIA in terms of points.

    Scola didn't score very well.

    Shane didn't score very well

    Landry didn't score very well.

    Wafer was a complete non-factor.

The Rockets only went 5-18 from 3.

I realize the Lakers had a stinker of an offensive game too, but there's an easy answer to that puzzle: THE ROCKETS PLAY ELITE DEFENSE.

There are only 2 guys that actually watch the Rockers and watch other basketball games and that's Marc Stein and Chris Sheridan. Nobody else on there has credibility especially John Hollinger.

I don't know anything about Henry Abbott or Broussard though, but Hollinger and Adande have no credibility what so ever.

    Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. Exactly.

No one is willing to give the Rockets defense credit... it was just a fluke that LA "put up a clunker".

QUOTE]Abbott: They are doing the best job of anybody in the league at keeping opponents from getting to the rim. That'll get tougher and tougher as Kobe Bryant gets over his cold and gets more determined to find good shots. So ... keeping that up is Job 1.[/QUOTE]

I hate how everyone is making excuses for Kobe Bryant's play. Why doesn't Abbott actually look at the previous games realize that Houston normally does a pretty good job with Kobe? Oh, I forgot, it's because he's the "media darling" even though he's a huge prick.

I don't actually trust these "experts".
They mostly judge their predictions by the stats.

I rather to trust the commentators who's formerly a player or coach like JVG, Webber, Payton, or even Barkley. Especially coaches and point guards.

They've been there and I believe they have more experience and knowledge about a basketball game than the people who watch from TV and looking at numbers.

Seriously now!!!! 9 out of 10, except for Sheridan, still think that the Lakers will win the series? That's extreme favoritism! It makes no sense how people outside of Houston continue to be in total denial that the Rockets were clearly the better team that game and are probably the better team this series!!

Hmm how come nobody thinks the Rockets will take it in 4 or 5 games? It's just as likely now as Lakers in 6 or 7 games because we've eliminated the possibility of a Lakers sweep in 4 and highly unlikely that they will win 4 in a row here out.

I love how all of the sudden the Rockets interior players are "big" when there isn't a player on the roster bigger than 6'9" excluding Yao. Not to mention the two backup PF/C are 6'8" (yes, he is 6'8') Carl Landry and 6'6" Chuck Hayes.

Take Yao away and the front line must be the smallest in the league.

It's clear some of these folks don't know anything about the Rockets. Everyone on the roster need to practice lobbing? You're telling me no one has figured that out to try to that in Yao's career?

If they knew anything about the Rockets, than they should know that lobbing is not the answer to fronting defense. In fact the answers to the fronting defense is ball rotation and the other players. The Lakers will be pretty much locked in on Yao, and it's up to the other players to pick up the slack - most notably Luis Scola - in Game 2, we'll need him what he did in Portland. If not Scola, I think Landry will need to step up in Game 2.
