I honestly want them to feel that way until their 4th loss in this series. I dont think people give enough credit about Rockets team but it's not a bad thing. I mean, it's really nothing until we beat the Fakers, right? So why bother to care what they think about us? We just need to win this series and move on. Afterall, we are not playing for media, we are playing for champion.

I felt that the Lakers' media and the team didn't give the Rockets too much credit either. While that might be dissing our team a bit, they did miss some wide open shots. They were 2-17 from 3 point land. That will not happen in game 2. Also when Kobe was asked about what adjustments had to be made for game 2, he said "none, we just have to play a bit better and more loose." Its him saying that they still have full confidence in their team. Not a diss on the Rockets. They are a championship team still and that's why they aren't getting rattled over this game. The good thing for the Rockets is that they can play better to in terms of shooting the ball from the three point land (5/18) and also rebound the ball more. They were outrebounded by 4 rebounds.

There is a cloud of arrogance that hangs over LA. This cloud prevents the coach/players/fans unable to fathom their great Lakers losing a game, much less a series.

If the Rockets end up winning the series, L.A will be very confused.

Why do you guys care so much about what Lakers fans think?

Stop being so insecure and focus on the Rockets' fans. Our opinion should be the only ones that matter.

Great post, back in the day there was no such thing as insecure Rocket fans.
They must not be from Houston.

From the player's perspective it shouldn't matter. Just get it done and the respect will come at the end.

This shoudlnt be a suprise. The media is all over Koble, Phil, and the Lakers team's nutts for decades. But, they are right when they say the fans shouldnt worry. It is only 1 game. But lets go out tonight and give them another good whooping. They didnt play their best in game 1, but neither did we! Lets play our best tonight and show everyone what this team is about!

People in Los Angeles care about media cred cause that's what LA is about, Hollywood, TMZ etc.

People in Houston don't care about that stuff.

"I don't know if we can play worse, to be honest with you" by Phil Jackson.

    How arrogant he is!

I was so happy when I saw this. If he doesn't know the word "humble", he will absolutely pay for it!

    Let's see!

    Go Rockets!

    whatever,

if Yao or Rick Adelman said the same thing as Phil, it would be considered a great statement.

Lakers fans are the most arrogant fans in the NBA.

I don't know about the Knicks since they're not really a good team recently but LA fans have always been so overconfident about their team.

It suits the Rockets, all the media pressure is on the LA, not Houston.

Whether Rockets lose in the second round it doesn't matter, nobody expected them to be there anyway. Actually most of the casual NBA fans stopped following Rockets as soon as TMac got injured.

Jackson has always been the most arrogant NBA head coach, Kobe the most arrogant NBA player, and Pau Gasol has always been the most arrogant guy in the FIBA European Championships (despite never even winning it). Then you have guys like Sasha...............it's just the way the Lakers are guys. No need to take it personal, they would act the same towards any other NBA team.

The Rockets are still considered not to give the Mighty Lakers a run for the series. According to most big media outlets the one game won by the Rockets maybe their last win. The Lakers will win the series and move on to the next round and in the end face the Cavs in the finals. Well I for one can't wait for the Rockets to shock the world. ClutchCity will rise again!
