Koby may sells more jerseys in China than Yao, but he's definitely not more popular than Yao! Only kids buy jersey in China and you know kids are rebellions, they buy Koby's jersey to piss off their parents and relatives
I'm not sure there is a conspiracy, but I will play along here. Even with Yao being popular in Asia, Kobe and the Lakers in general are popular everywhere and more valuable to them. It seemed like they were thinking the same thing about Roy, but maybe not since the last few games of that series were *more* fairly officiated. What I am surprised about is Cleveland. I know LeBron James is hot stuff this year and won the MVP... but Cleveland is a tiny market... Maybe the Cavs are actually winning all their games without any ref help? I know they have been playing weak teams. You have to wonder how the officiating will be for Cavs vs anyone else from the west.... Does the popular personality of one LeBron James make up for him playing for such a small market team?
i thought they didn't publish that stuff until an hour or so before the game...because of gambling issues.
Guys, maybe Crawford is here today to propel rockets to victory.. i mean, he is callous to criticism so it would be perfect!! Here's to giving him the benefit of the doubt. CHEERS!! I won't hate on Joey tonight.. I'll be loving him.. WHOS WITH ME?!
Oh man,you might be right about the jersey sales in China, but you forgot one thing why Yao has more popularity in China. He's a Chinese. As for now I'm staying in China and when I watched game 1 the other day,you know what, the people around me watching this showdown shouted out loud when the Rockets scored a point and made big shots when needed the most. After the buzzer sounded off, everybody cheered. Well,it's just one district, not the whole mainland China, but one of my friends who's hardcore Lakers fan told me that those who supported Kobe and his lakers team in the regular season is now rooting for the Rockets. That's Yao Effect. So Kobe might be the no.1 in jersey sales, but he can't replace Yao someway in China.
I'd like to know what you are drinking or smoking. I need some of that to survive tonight whatever it is.
i'm high on life son! i just think all this bltching and moaning is a negative vibe I don't wana be a part of when i watch the game tonight.. so i'm here to break the trend!
According to here, among all main refs who officiated more than 10 games in the regular season, Crawford is: 1st in Called Fouls per game 3rd in Home Win percentage 9th in Road Team Foul percentage Not looking good for us...
one thing you guys discount is that Crawford def doesn't like players in his face or showing him up. I think if we can frustrate Kobe enough, he blows his cool tonight, and Joey probably puts him in his place. Kobe is probably the best known complainer in the league outside of Duncan, and you saw what he got from Joey last year. I think this could work in our favor if we just do what we did two nights ago and walk away from any BS the Lakers try to throw at us. Kobe is obviously aware of all the criticism and press Shane and Ron have gotten for their defense. If he starts out slow, he's most likely going to start looking for calls and start yelling at the refs. I don't really buy into the conspiracy theories, but I do buy into Crawford making his presence known, and he'll do it with anyone. This could be really fun to watch tonight if the Lakers start to get frustrated.
I also would add that what I took from Morey's comments on how he'd rather see Joey on the road have more to do with the fact that the percentages of winning a road game, especially against the best regular season team in the West, are small to start with, so you'd much rather have bad reffing on the road in a game you aren't supposed to win anyway. However, if you get bad officiating at home it can kill you, since the NBA, unlike any other of the major sports is swayed much more by home court advantage, which is why you constantly hear it refered to. We have already done what we came to do, so losing on the road now isn't SUCH a big deal. Nonetheless, I think anyone would prefer not to see Crawford AT ALL.
I've noticed that since I got to that site and I was like,WTF? He's a whistle machine I guess,he's just held his whistle when he hit the sack every single night and wanna blow it night in and night out. Hope we could be more aggressive and make 'em work for anything to get the point.Frustration would grow if we keep our defense leveled out or up,then Kobe and other Lakers would yell at Joey to argue about the calls he made, there shows the drama. Let's go Rockets.
