Is It Just Me... Or Is Nobody From The Lakers Giving The Rockets Credit???

I mean im watching all the interviews and it seems that Phil Jackson and Kobe are basically convinced already that they are going to come back and win the series. Saying things like "its just one game" and "we didnt play our best game" or "lakers fans shouldnt panick". Maybe the lakers fans should panick because they sound a little overconfident to me. They blame the game one loss on themselves more than they blame it on the Rockets defense and yao and brooks' efficiency. Not once have i heard someone from the Lakers say "the Rockets did a good job" or "they played Kobe pretty well" or even "we cant let them take game 2". Maybe because they are already convinced in their minds that we CANT win game 2. I pray so hard that this overconfidence comes back to bite them, and that we win again tonight.

I have a funny feeling this refusal to give credit to our team and coaches has a lot to do with Phil Jacksons feelings about Coach Adelman. He has not lost a series to Adelman in his career but is that enough reason for him to think its in the bag?

I dont see any sense of fear or urgency from LA to make sure we dont win this game, and in turn we have to beat them and show them that it wont be a walk in the park.

If we can keep Kobe how we did the first half of game 1 we can have them in trouble. Make him work for ANYTHING he gets and put pressure on the rest of the team to make tough shots.

I have faith that we can upset these cocky mother ****ers tonight!

Well that is what they (Kobe and Phil) want the other laker players to believe. They want them to think that the Rockets are not a team that can beat them. That it was more of them not playing up to their abitlity, and this is so that they stay confident and do not start doubting themselves. But the rockets are not going anywhere!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed that since the beginning. Pure arrogance and cockiness. They need a royal beat down tonight. But then they would act the same way afterwords because it's just their nature of being dominant for so long. The Lakers can't fathom the fact that the Rockets were the better team on Game 1. IGNORANT TRASH....

I remember what pau Gasol said after the first or second game against them this season, he flat out said in the interview "they played hard but we are just better" something alont those lines, that was pretty cocky and arrogant considering the rockets had not really gotten their line up situated yet. They are a very cocky bunch that have not won anything...

I would also like to mention that Kobe has had alot of help in order to get his team back to contendor status, the 2-3 year GAP since Shaq left, his team didn't make the playoffs one year and failed to get past the first round the other years, always having a 40ish win season until they get Gasol...I think Lebron has done much more with what little talent he has around him than Kobe.

    Chill.
They're trying to set the mentality for the second game, they need the non-superstar lakers to have their confidence and focus.

That means keeping their minds on what they do, not what the Rockets are doing.

Living out here as i do (LA) These fans will for the most part never admit they are wrong or that their team has any faults.

One of my co-Workers commented that it wasn't the Lakers that played last night. They use their built in excuses constantly and tend to overrate their own players. "Wait till we get bynum back"

This is not to say that we don't do the same thing but we have rallied from our adversity and i can truly say that Win, lose, or draw. I Love Our Team!

To paraphrase the great John Wooden: Its about Effort and Enthusiasm and our guys have that in abundance

I rather care that we win the game than have this insecurity about the media.

    Try being Ron Artest
he doesn't give a f*** about media attention or stephen a smith

Does it really surprise you? They expected to walk right over everyone in the Western Conference all the way back to the finals. I mean they have the same pieces as last year, plus a mostly healthy Bynum and healthy Ariza. Its championship or bust for them.

I'd be willing to wager most of this Rockets forum still isn't giving us much of a chance against these guys. Its times like this I'm so glad we have Shane Battier and Yao Ming to lead us. We're gonna shock the world!!!

They are what they are,we can't change the nature of 'em.They're just bunches of cocky mother ****ers that ain't accomplished nothing.

And what we need to do is just have our concentration on game 2 and focus and do what we suppose to do to get the win out of L.A.

BEAT L.A  Let those cocky suckers know the fact that they ain't no superior team that could dismantle any team night in and night out. Arrogance shoulda killed em earlier this season but now,it's our turn to take that honor to kick their butts!

They won't give us any credit even if we win the series and that doesn't matter at all.

they are all Hypocrites even people on this forum

The Tracy Fans thinking they Rockets couldn't win without him, now they are saying imagine if we had him healthy
and their hero is on california radio stations and jim rome worshiping kobe

The Yao fans back in the day were angry about a LeBron free throw article.. "YAO IS BETTER FREE THROWER!" etc

They say Barkley hates the Rockets, but he's giving nothing but praise this playoff season to Yao, Ron etc

This is reflects how people feels about THEMSELVES NOT THE ROCKETS.

It's called insecurity. If you are not happy about what you have done and need other people to pat you on the bat (aka the media) then YOU ARE INSECURE.

I don't think the Ron Artest or the rest of the Rockets who are playing CARES AT ALL ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK.

IF we win the championship, it'll be because Jordan wasn't around.
