Bill Simmons wrote a great write up about the game, how their fans went quiet. Typical Los Angeles. Reminds me of when Texas played USC and everyone was crowning USC as the best team of all-time.

It was sweeter being able to stand in the USC section at the Rose Bowl and hear their shrieking as VY ran into that end zone.

I feel the same thing coming on here. Repeat of the 80's when we took down Showtime in 5, but I think Rockets in 6, finishing at home.

And they'll still be crying about how they're the better team once it's they go fishing.

    The Faker fans I know:

Kobe was siiiiiiick dude! (my response, Mike scored like 50 when he had the flu so I guess Kobe is not better then Mike after all?)

You guys got all the calls!! The NBA hates us!!!! (I just laugh at this one)

Its cute you guys think you can actually win now!! (No we should all just bow down to the ****in Fakers)

Dude we got Kobe man!!! (exactly what has he done since Shaq left again? )

Pretty much the rest of the thread were other people telling him was an idiot for complaining about that.

You're right, I could not believe how calm and professional he acted after that.

i go to school in the oc and i heard some guys talking about the game, saying the game wasn't as close as the score indicated and that the lakers need to step it up.

    they sounded worried. :D

I can't decide if we retain the mental advantage of our first win if we also win game two...

Winning both in L.A. would knock them off their cloud, force Kobe and Phil to whip some tail in the locker room.. Maybe better for us to let them stay complacent, at least from a mental standpoint. If L.A. soaks up enough "can't-possibly-play-that-badly-again" and "week-long-rust" syndrome, it just might be better to have them on the ropes mentally coming into Houston as opposed to embarrassed, bloodthirsty.

See, I really don't mind Lakers fans. They seem to be pretty knowledgeable and concede things they know to be true. Most of them aren't "OMG BOO THE OTHER TEAM NO MATTER WAT U GUYZ", so their crowd isn't as aggressive as Utah's either. That was pretty cool that those two guys actually admitted they were wrong.

Chuck should turn heads this series.

yeah it was a class move. The funny part was all of that trash talk they obviously had never seen him play. It is just hilarious they assume he has never been on sportcenter he cannot be an elite post defender.

Not sure why he have this sudden obsession with what other fans think. Laker fans are fairly typical, some are homers, some are objective, and some are morons. You'll get that mix for any team, in any sport, professional or collegiate. Hell, you get that from little league baseball parents. To me, the only fans that truly stand out when it comes to vile and loathsome behavior are Utah fans, who almost universally go out of their way to embarrass their team and their city.

started to feel like i was going through some schoolgirl's diary with the 'he said she said' crap . . . . then wondered why I clicked on the thread in the first place . . . maybe I wanted to hear them squeel a bit, maybe I wanted to hear that this team deserves (and has earned) respect, maybe wanted to, ahh anyways Who cares what the lakers fans think, so . .

Anyways, I'm out and on to the next thread -- well, maybe the hangout. I don't know, we'll see. perhaps go for something to eat. maybe KFC, or something.

    cheers :D

I read that thread, nice job laying some knowledge on them. Some of them were open to discussion, some made up their minds no matter what the result.
