I fully believe that our play in game 2 will tell us who will win the series. The 2 scenarios

If the lakers blow us out and win by more than 15 points, we have no chance in the series. It will show that the lakers have the ability to "turn it on" and that we don't have the talent to play against them when they do this

If the Rockets make it a competitive game, with a close fourth quarter, then I truly believe we can win the series. It will show that we can play with the lakers even when they are desperate.

It will be interesting to see.

The series depends on our homestand. We prevent a split in Houston, and it's ours.

Great thread, and succinct, spot-on analysis. I'm not expecting us to win Game 2, but if we keep it close...I really like our chances in the series.

I think it's a bit flawed to say it like that.

We don't have the team makeup or style of play to really get "blown-out" in this big of a game. We keep the game tempo fairly low and our defense is too good to let teams build too big of a lead on us, unless our shooting is just abysmal.

I honestly think we are the least likely team in the playoffs to be blown out by 15 or more.

Famous last words. Remember the cry in 2005 against Dallas sports fans: 19-0 & 2-0? Don't take anything for granted. It would be awesome if the Rockets won game 2 but saying it will decide the series is silly. If the Lakers win, the Rockets need to go home and hold serve like they did against the Blazers.

The clinching game will decide the series and we don't know yet which game that will be.

Correct analysis, game 2 meant Portland should've won the series.

    Game 2 people.

    HUGE.

i love us winning game one...i'm not sold until we either go up 2-0 or 3-1.

    rather go 2-0.

This Rox is a heroic team. Even Lakers blow us in next game, I believe
Rox will not quit and give up in the following games.

Yeah, but wasn't that 2005 series 1 of the 3 series that looked rather suspicious with the league officials?? Donaghy used this example in an article, I thought

I don't see us being able to hold off the Lakers at home unlike Portland. We shouldn't forget that we had great difficulty in winning Games 3 and 4.
Game 2 is a must win in my opinion. We could still lose even if we went up 2-0 but our chances of success would increase greatly if we could pull it off.The Lakers can make the necessary adjustments needed to win the series.
