Just heard him on an interview on ESPN.

not a homer. it's kinda obvious now since we stole game 1 and hca. either we defend our hca and win it in 6, like what we did with portland, or we give it back and lose in 7.

JVG also predicted that we would win game-1 against the Lakers.

I think JVG really hates he got canned here, loves Houston and the Rockets unlike any other coach that has been fired from any other team, and wishing he could be with this organization in some capacity.

He's definitely a homer. Maybe RA could consider him as an assistant if he would take a step down.

Yea, I get the feeling Jeff still loves the team and it's players (Shane, Yao, etc.)...His legacy of team defense is still evident.

Jeff Van Gundy roots for Yao Ming HARD. He has a lot of faith in that big man and it's obvious from many past comments that he wishes every player worked as hard and was as professional as Yao. I think that's the root of his Rockets love.

Also, he has to show his face in public down here. ;)

There is nothing wrong with being a homer. I'm an uber homer to the infinite.

I like JVG. He should coach at Houston. I still think his defensive legacy carries on....

JVG is amazing, he will always pick us, what a homer. But even though we won game 1, I still think Lakers are gonna get this series in 6-7 games.

It's pretty straightforward now that we have home court. Unless the Lakers can take two out of three in Houston, it will go to seven games. I doubt the Lakers can do that unless they're really, really fired up.

Seconded. He could also work as a special assistant in the front office. He still lives in Houston so I think it's pretty obvious he loves this town.

jvg said he still favored the lakers but that we are the team that will offer the most resistance. he said we win in 6 (he implied this would be an upset) or LA in 7. he just thinks it will be a tough series. he's probably right. he may be a homer but he's prolly got it about right. better than most of the other experts assessments.

I love this prediction, and I also predicted it this way prior to the start of the series. We have to win in 6..... that's really our only shot.

i would love to see both of them on our bench...but that would mean we would probably have to can Turner?? right?

he's done a good job with D...but he cant do great like JVG.
