Wow -what a game last night, so inspirational, and it got me to thinking, which can be a good or bad thing. So, I wanted to post my thought here in Video format, I actually think this is a classic offense vs. defense matchup. The Lakers are slugging with their offense and we are hitting back with defense. Gonna be a war. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UCBfKJTesUs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UCBfKJTesUs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> I hope you enjoy the video, and sorry if I am a weee bit too excited, last night's game has me giddy ! I hope you enjoy it, and comments are of course welcome. DD
Nice vid DD. Like in all sports Defense wins championships and the Rockets know how to play D. The Lakers will come out swinging but the Rockets will not back down and it will not surprise me if the Rockets win on Wednesday. The Rockets know how important the next game will be and like the Portland series will be close enough to take the second game; just play with poise down the stretch. I am looking for Von, Landry, and Lowry to be huge in the win.
Nice I agree the winner of this series will be the champ. Let's go team. Ring for Deke. Ring for another player who's no longer with us, who couldn't hit shots but played with his heart all these years. Spoiler Rafer
DD I agree with you. Whenever we have both teams missing left/right and on a scoring drought. That's ROCKETS basketball!
yeah? when exactly are you in town? let me treat you dinner! you know it's extremely difficult to find a true rockets fan here in this city...
Let me hit you back, right now I am planning to be in the UK and Sweden the week of the 18th......I will be in Manchester to start, and then London...or maybe reverse.... BTW, I gave you some green on your reputation for rooting for the Rockets from London ...big ups ! DD
cheers mate! i didn't know those little green boxes indicate one's reputation... so i've just dropped you an email, do get back to me! go rockets and yao!
So, I saw a quote from Brooks. Something to the effect of... I now know what coach means when he asks me to be more aggressive. Its not taking lots of shots. Its getting into the spaces the defense gives you and opening up the floor so there are more opportunities everywhere. Bingo. Reminds me of chess. About getting an advantage and holding it over their heads until they crack. Its a ticking bomb in a Hitchcock thriller, its most devestating if it never goes off. Brooks hitting from the outside is like a bomb. its a threat. brooks getting into the defense is like taking the screws that hold the laker airplane apart from the inside. 747 going down ...
Sweet vid DD. If the Rockets beat the Lakers I would like to make a donation to the background of your vids, with a rockets "prop".
DD. I disagree with the fact that the winner of this series will win it all. I think the winner of this series will go to the Finals, and from there its a toss up. However, I think the Cavs will win it all this year... except if they face the Rockets.
Great takes, DD. I think the keys to this series are still going to be keeping Kobe off the FT line, keeping their bigs off the offensive board, knocking down our FTs, and for the love of God, take care of the ball! No careless passes, no sloppy turnovers. Yao was especially guilty of this in Game 1. He made a couple of lazy passes and a careless fouls (probably due to fatigue). Adelman will have to really monitor his minutes especially at the end of quarters and halves to sustain his energy levels (there are no long layoffs in this series until Game 7) and keep him from picking up fouls due to fatigue so that he can be a factor late in the game. Yao, Shane, and Scola have to be really, really careful to not be too aggressive in Game 2. Kobe is going to get the calls, know this and adjust accordingly.
