a fantastic terrific significant wonderful win! u don't know how angry i was when Shane got hurt. the honor belongs to Shane the honor belongs to the whole Rockets!
http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=207187&cl=13310351&ch=244098&src=sports ah Lakers fans. The definition of bandwagon. You worship your Kobe Bryant and yet he has yet to bring you a championship without the Diesel.
man even though i had to be up at 6am for work, the huge win made it worth it to stay up till like 2am! i sat in the same position most of the game and my feet was getting numb (got up a few times for the bathroom of course). i had predicted in another forum that rockets would suprise and win game 1. happy to see the rockets pull through and played hard for 48min. Battier with the great D on Kobe forcing him to take mostly jumpers (only drove into the lane a few times). this game couldve been a blowout like game 1 of portland series but turnovers and mistakes kept it close. Glad rockets were able to stay poised and focus and control the game. THey made the lakers play at their tempo majority and was key in the 4th qtr when lakers took the 1pt lead. Yao with the great game despite playing almost all of the 2nd half. Missed some shots he typically makes but he kept at it and hit some big shots in the 4th. I'm sure the lakers will adjust to defend him so hopefully he stays ready and adjust to it as well. All in all, great team effort including the bench like they have done this playoffs. Cant wait for game 2! Guess ill be staying up till 2am again lol

This win re-testfied that the game is a team game. And we gave Lakers respect but they didn't. Ad made a smart substitute in final minutes. Go, Rockets.
Rockets lead basically at least 47 min and win LAKERS by 8 points. That's a blowout win in my book . Now what will you say? Have some faith man!
Good things happen when Brooks penetrates, I hope he doesn't go into his Jekyll/Hyde routine of good games and bad this series because we need him to run Fisher right out of the gym. Next game we're going to need Scola to score more because we know the Lakers will not shoot this bad tomorrow. Watch out for Sasha Hackacic, I guarantee he will make a name for himself for a long time on this forum as a guy we will hate because he's going to be karate chopping whoever he guards and he'll get a few more of those steals where he comes up behind the unsuspecting ball handler after the rebound or inbound. It was a good win, I knew we could take one of these first 2 and what I'm really happy for is watching the national media continue to talk down the Rockets because eventually they will run out of excuses for picking the other team.
What a great win! Major props to a great gutty team effort, especially for following players (not in particular order, so I won't offend another after such a great victory). Yao was a warrior, delivered, especially in the second half. He was patient but also determined, as Collins said he has grown. Those 2 long jumpers he knocked down in the fourth, he would probably have passed in last year, after a few turnovers and missed easy shots. You could see from his eyes, he really wanted this win, those 2 early cheap fouls actually helped him get a good rest and calm down. The way he came back to the game after the knee bruise was truly inspiring, even Lakers fans were giving him applauses. He led by example. AB played a great game last night. He was confident and aggressive. When he played in rhythm, he also passed much better. Although he was only credited for 2 assists, he passed a lot better and early to the wing to Shane and Ron, for post entry passes. Those baskets broke the tie in the fourth were huge, so was the loose ball he fought back from Gasol after Yao's turnover. After I bashed him hard in some of the round 1 games, he deserves a lot of credit for this win. Shane is Shane, a true tough guy. As the captain of the team, he also has grown this year, not basketball wise, but leadership wise. He stepped up both on and off court this year. His non-stop body guarding Kobe, made him work for every single shot he put up. Shane's great defensive effort and capability gave us a chance to beat the Lakers - he made Kobe a jump shooter, and a volume shooter. He didn't let Kobe provoke him with the dirty play, kept his cool and truly delivered. Ron, what can I say? High efficient offense and tough defense. He scored when we needed the points desperately, he passed when Yao was in position, he defended those long LA players hard. A great game from Ron, always level-headed and very consistent. Hayes, just like in the Portland series, he was ready no matter when you play him and how much you play him. He played great when Yao got those 2 cheap fouls, and held Gasol and kept him frustrated, with his solid defense and cleverness. RA, this was a very well coached game, especially the 2 small quick guards lineup towards the end of the game really threw Lakers off. They couldn't handle the speed of AB and Lowry. Overall, a great team effort and collective win. Let's go get them in Game 2 now!
