I'm inclined to side with TB-Cain here, 9 pts, 6 boards and 2 blks in only 24 minutes a game is simply not bad at all, nor are KT's 8 pts and 6 boards in the same amount of PT. This is both of these guys' first year to see significant minutes. I don't think it's unreasonable to hope for 11-12 pts, 8 boards, and 2.5-3 blks from Cato next year, especially if his minutes go up to around 30 a game. Show me a center out there, that is available and that young, that could put up those kind of numbers.

    39% is not impressive.

We have no shooters (other than Walt at the 3/4/5 slots, and that was pretty much towards the end of the year).

Cato - no shot, no hustle, sporadic
    Rogers - no shot
Thomas - no shot, makes poor decisions (which will improve with playing time)
Massenburg - no shot, fragile, get rid of him!
Williams - average shot, weak defense
Miller - are you kidding me? he would probably miss the Bay if he were standing at the end of the pier
Bullard - good shot, uneven defense and rebounding, can't stay healthy
Hakeem - physical problems and age = uneven performance

Bring back Othella - he drives you crazy at times by shooting instead of passing, but, by golly, he did put points on the board. Surely there must be someone in the draft that can give us more help on the front line than what we have!

    HeyPartner,

I do not have the time or energy to get those stats..sorry.

However, I think the reason KT did not shoot a higher percentage is that he did not get the ball often enough.

In college he was THE MAN, and knew he would get the touches, and was able to get into a rythmn.

One of the problems with our new offense is the ISO does not give enough touches to lesser players, like Shandon, and Kenny, etc.

I think once Steve and Cuttino get a little more comfortable passing the ball to the open man, then KT and most everyone elses shooting stats will rise.

Look how well Walt started playing when he got comfortable with his role/position.

I think KT will get to the 15-10 or 15-8 position soon. It is, of course, all up to KT to make that decision to improve.

If KT is going to continue shooting under 40%, I don't want him to average 15 points. It'd take way too many shots to get those numbers.

If KT wants to start or get significant minutes he's going to need to be able to shoot over 47%.

The one thing I like about Thomas' game is his rebounding. But, other than that he has a ton of work to do in just about every other aspect of his game. He's a poor defender, rarely even putting his hands up on defense. He's not a good passer. He's not a good FT shooter. He does hustle, but not all the time.

You guys are wrong in saying that Thomas is a poor defender. Sure, he's short, and sometimes people shoot over him, but he's applied excellent defense to some very good players.

Kenny didn't get burned that much this year. If you want, look at the direct matchups he's had this year. He didn't get burned very often, after the beginning.

I don't remember how many all-star games Lambeir was in, but I remember him there. The guy was effective, dirty, but effective.

Aguire I am sure went to quite a few all-star games, though he was in the latter stages of his career when he was with the Pistons. But he still was one of the better offensive forwards in the league even then.

But my main point was that Ewards, Lambeir, Aguire, Rodman & Salley made up an extremely capable front court. During that period only Boston and the Laker's were obviously better. And coming in 3rd or 4th best in the league (out of like 25?) suggests quite a lot of talent. Another way to think about it, I am not sure any of our players would be good enough to get any important playing time (even large back-up minutes) if they were playing on that Pistons team.
