I am happy with Browery as our (combined) Point. I believe in them, and when they are 'on' they are charm. However, there are a plethora of Points likely available to the Rox (and most everyone else) this summer, either by trade (teams' cap issues) or free agency. If we could move up the calendar and not give anything other than Browery playing time up, how many, if any, of the following summer availables would actually swing the perception nationally to the Rox as favs vs the Lakes? **Andre Miller* Mike Bibby* **Raymond Felton Chris Duhon Jason Kidd* (but not for much longer than this year) **Kirk Hinrich* Baron Davis **Monta Ellis* (oh, but what might TMac's contract do in GS???) Jamaal Tinsley **Ramon Sessions **Randy Foye **Steve Nash (if only Sarver/Kerr goes into brainlock) Rafer Alston I have *s next to ones I believe would, without consideration of cost of talent to acquire. I have **s next to ones I hope DM the GM considers in the off-season.
I do not want Baron. We already have a guy who shoots 41% on 25 shots a night. I would love to have Bibby.
Andre Miller. I watched him since his college days with Kieth Van Horn in Utah. Great team player. Passes the ball, not selfish.
andre miller for sure...smart, can score, and make plays....bibby is not in regular form he's definitely on a decline
I'm sorry but i don't think the addition of ANYONE would put us above the lakers on paper in terms of talent. Maybe if we got chris paul or deron williams both of which are impossible, we would be even with them. Right now as it stands, minus KOBE the lakers are pretty even with us talent wise.
I'd be surprised if we got a point guard in the offseason. Everything Morey has said indicates that he thinks Brooks is our future starter, and Lowry is our backup. That being said, he he did look for a significant upgrade, I'm not sure which position we'd look for. Not center, hard to find something significantly better than Scolandry, If we resign Artest and assume Battier is still starting then we don't need any more swingmen...so where to add? If we go for adding a few bandaids, I could getting a back up center (Zaza maybe?) a forward with size that can shoot long range and play either forward position for versatility.
Andre Miller is a baller! Agree 100%! If Kyle Lowry can evolve to be somewhere near Andre Miller that would be sweet!
Andre Miller, he's effin good and has improved much playing in Philly. But nah, forget it, Morey will be sticking with Brooks at the starting 1.
The question is: if one of the likely available points could be morphed onto this squad, as is, right now, would the Rox be (perceived as) favs v Lakes? I believe: YES. I also believe Browery could lead us past the Lakes. Will they? Or will D-Fish (and Farmar/Brown) dagger our hearts by sticking it to Browery?
An upgrade at pg alone wont move us past the Lakers....not even if it were Paul or Williams. Their simply too tall and long. If we truly want to contend with them, we need more size. I think Spencer Hawes would be a great addition to this team.
if we had a 2004 T-Mac on the current team we would dismantle every team in the playoffs. However, that T-Mac would make current Yao look like a 2nd tier center (not a knock on yao, but t-mac was that good). T-mac would be our unquestionable first option and Yao seems to struggle when he isnt in the flow.
I think Morey indicated on many different occasions that he believes Brooks is someone you can rebuild your team on. So, no, rockets will not push a trade to get a 1.
None of them. Nobody is favored against the greatest team ever. But I must have Ramon Sessions on this team.
