And there goes another Tmac apologist. Blaming everyone but mac himself. Considering that Roy never drove to the basket and basically caught it and shot the ball, all McGrady had to do was get close to him and use his size to bother the shot. Roy actually played to McGrady's strength. Instead McGrady just stood there and watched the play like myself in the living room. Had Roy decided to drive, maybe your point would have been valid. Sorry, fail.
Uhhh... ever heard of Dikembe Mutombo? How about Chuck Hayes? Both would get much more minutes if Yao was gone. This team is better defensively with Mutombo/Hayes taking over Yao's minutes. On the flip side, who the hell guards a playoff version of Tracy McGrady? Based on your language, you're probably a kid, so I don't fault you for your ignorance. Just try to open your eyes next time.
Want to know why that game was even close? Take a look at T-Mac's 30 points, 8 assists, and 7 boards. Oh, and he was a +6 in that game. He had a solid overall game. Wish I could've said the same for Artest and his 3-9 shooting, or Scola and his awful defense on Aldridge, or Landry and his -17. Yes, T-Mac does deserve responsibility for Roy's last shot, but it should also be noted that we did not have the no-stats all-star in uniform that would've been on Roy on that last shot. Battier is a much smarter defender than McGrady and would not have let that happen.

Did Tracy's stat make the team better? There is a good reason why he has good stat and his team can't win. Same goes to current Allen Iverson. Iverson made to the final, though.
Exactly. I'm sick of everybody defending Tracy just because of his stats. There is no point in getting stats if you don't win with them. Tracy played his heart out and was desired to win in the playoffs, but he still came up short. Tracy's prime was filled with bad luck, and that he's playing on a contending team he's not making good use of it.
Are you really going to answer "no" to that question? With Battier out and Artest struggling mightily with his shot early in the season, do you really think that team gets close to winning @ Portland without him?
that dude is fraud. Artest is about hard nose defense, hip hop music, and trash talking. Tracy McGrady is about scoring points , his fans only care about him and throw his teammates under the bus, and they only care that he scores lots of points ,hence the references to Orlando when they couldn't get out of the first round. If that guy is an Artest fan, then Clutch is a Karl Malone fan. At least Yao fans don't stoop that low.
I honestly don't understand why people who refuse to stoop to this level and spit in Tracy's face are labeled and ridiculed as TOF's. There's a giant difference between caring only for T-Mac's success and just plain having decency. So many of you same people just a year ago were on the opposite spectrum, rooting just the same for the Tracy-led Rockets AND appreciating most of what he did as well (and yes, it was a TEAM effort back then too. I know you know this because if you remember and watched the games, all around the league, we were regarded as one of the teams with the best chemistry.) But fans will be fans, turning against each other, making outrageous claims, that's what makes us who we are and keeps us passionate about our Rockets. But I guarantee you, TOFs, YOFs, Stevie, Supervon, Artest fans, whatever, all of us celebrated this 1st round victory regardless as ROCKETS fans. All I'm saying is, say what you will about Tracy or Ron or Yao or whoever, fine. But why continually and uselessly bash other FANS, namecalling, picking fights, etc? I especially don't understand it when it comes from the board veterans, whom all these years have claimed superiority over the "rookies" because you supposedly don't act like "them" by doing the unnecessary bashing and ridiculing? I wasn't enrolled at the very beginning obviously, but I've been on here for a long while to know the difference between logical criticism/debates and pointless finger-pointing. So if this superiority is true, then how about lead by example for the newcomers so the useless fights don't continue to break out as they always do these days with ridicule on here. I'm sure many of us like me miss the meaningful and quality Rockets threads, not page after page of ignorance. With that said, bring on the Fakers.
There's no legitimate defense for T-Mac. He threw the team, the coaching and training staff, the entire organization under the bus. If the fans want to do a little gloating they're well entitled to it.
You are right, last year. Honestly, for me, I just had enough.....at some point you just throw your hands up in the air and say....ENOUGH.... That happened for me this year with Tmac....when he came into camp fat and out of shape.....and then basically quit on the team.......I just had it. I want him out. DD
the only thing you can't say about mcgrady is he doesn't make his teammates better. you seriously think luther, hayes, ryan bowen, wesley, sura could have played the minutes they played on another other team in those years? when hayes is in the game nowadays, no one can get him easy buckets like tracy used to. the things people can say about tmac this year are: lazy, not committed, terrible PR... but please, even a rookie in courtney lee is outplaying rafer and we had him playing 40 minutes in the playoffs. please.
good post. i'm a tracy supporter, but i do agree with a lot of the criticisms regarding him this year in how he was not as good with his rehab, terrible on D, and basically a nonfactor for the entire year when he did play. but people really took the opportunity of tracy's struggles and just basically destroyed his character, how he's a terrible human being, calling dude names... that's really low. but the beauty of sports is you can easily bring the fans back on the bandwagon if you perform: kobe bryant rape case trial, to jason giambi's admittance of steroid use...
You guys are horrible fans! Last year when the Rockets were winning 22 in a row, you guys were chanting mvp for T mac ,and saying we did not need Yao on this same board. How can you all look yourselves in the mirror everday knowing that you guys are phonies. This web sites has been taken over by ignorance.
LOL - yeah, it is up to you to judge who is and isn't a good fan...ROFLMAO.... I have been a fan since 1972-1973...how about you rook? DD
Wait . . .so you say those players are *****ty Then say . .the rockets had no one else. . . then you use the fact that they played. . .as a testament to TMAC's Greatness? Rocket River
