You call getting Grady lucky. Well I guess that old saying is still true, "One mans trash is another's treasure."

Back to Von, around 2.5 to 3 mill a year seems fair to me. I wouldn't pay him much more than that unless they really see some ability to coach him up on the defensive end. I think he's a really good sixth man, but not so sure about his abililty as a starter for a championship contender. If you could upgrade the starting point and get a good back up center here in Houston, then you could roll with him as a starter next to Shane (assuming Ron's gone).

I'd offer him as much as 11 million over 3 years if I were Morey.

This guy has enough talent. He just needs minutes to reach his potential.

I read an article with Boki a while back and he mentioned that most of the Euro-league players aren't getting paid because the teams are broke. He says that he's trying to get back to the NBA this summer if his current team buys him out.

Needless to say, I think that little trend from last summer has run it's course

Von Wafer deserves 3.5, MAYBE 4 mill a year. I agree that he does need to be re-signed because we have not had instant offense in quite some time. Plus he can step into a spot starting role with ease.

von wafer stinks, thinks he can replace t-mac on the court when his talent is not nearly on the same level, he's good for a bench player and that's about it

My man, Wafer has played his way in. He'll get plenty of time on the court here, even in the somewhat unlikely scenario that T-Mac returns. I read T-Mac won't be ready to go until late next season anyway, even if he does return.

Wafer is a crowd favorite - instant offense, an aggressive slashing style, a beautiful jump shot, and a fired-up attitude. Yeah, he'll be here next year. If he tightens up his defense, he could be the next big thing.

Losing Wafer would be a significant blow in my opinion. Nobody, I mean nobody, on this team has his explosiveness. He played well in the playoffs in a limited role (too limited IMO).

I think there's enough upside there with Von to warrant 3.5 to 4 MM per year for 3 years. Yeah, I'd overpay to keep him. If necessary, Les needs to wander into Lux tax land to keep Von.

We do not need to lose momentum next year.

The only way Von doesn't return is if Morey has a plan that is going to greatly upgrade the team and Von's departure is necessary to make it happen. If there is a deal that involves not resigning Von or a sign and trade you can be sure it's a blockbuster deal that will probably make almost everyone happy.

Tmac is done here. Even if he is in training camp he isn't going to get minutes. There is absolutely zero reason for him to suit up and be a member of the team. Why would the Rockets allow him to disrupt the chemistry of a group of guys who play great together when everyone knows he will be gone by the All Star break at the latest? His value has little or nothing to do with his health so if he is around next season expect him to sit on injured reserve until he is dealt.

Von is coming back and Ron is coming back. I expect Wafer to take a few more of Shane and Ron's minutes next season. Between SF and SG there are 96 minutes to be shared by the 3 of them. That's more than enough to go around.

He is worth 3 mil at most. He is a streaky, athletic scorer who is only recently learning how to pass and is completely lacking on the defensive end. Considering that the economy is trash right now and any team rebuilding is looking at 2010, most likely Wafer is going to be in a Landry situation where we end up paying exactly how much he is worth.

If game one didn't hurt him, game two cost him some money.

When James White came in, I thought Von still had 50% chance to stay with the Rockets. Now, I think Von only has 25% chance to stay with the Rockets. JVG would have send him GONE FISHING already.

The problem is that his handling skills have been exposed. Unfortunately so has his attitude. Don't get me wrong, I still like him and would like to see him back. But I think he cost himself some money.
