I want to get rid of a PSone I got as a gift (with dual shock controller) and Gran Turisomo 2. I've played the console for probably 30 minutes tops.

I will sell the package for $60 shipped.

$60 seems about right, since shipping is included (at least that's what I draw from it). I don't have that kind of money, but a couple of people I know might be interested.

    two questions

    1) Why is Sony even making Playstations?

    2) Who are the dumbasses that are still buying Playstations?

Of course, if I find the answer to number two, then number one answers itself.

What about people who can't afford the PS2 or an equivalent...such as the lower class and the like? Yes, there are people out there who are not able to afford things that maybe you can but may have young ones who want to experience console gaming to any extent. I don't think you can have a young son and not have a gaming console under any circumstances. It's pretty much a fact of life now(with exceptions, i.e. too poor, mean parents, non-gamers, weirdos, etc.). :)

I just bought my son a PS1 for his birthday. I guess I'm a dumbass for spending my hard earned money on food, clothes and the like for my kids. You know, I really should get my priorities straight. I should spend all my money on a $200 system and $50 games so that my kids can spend their every waking minute on the finest gaming consules on the market.

Oh, and the second PS2 is replaced by a $400 PS3 system, I'll be in line at midnight, with my mortgage check in hand so that my kids will not feel deprived of the best money can offer.

"Sorry that we are having ketchup soup for dinner again tonight, but hey, at least we can be entertained in the manor that A-Train says we should."

Dude, don't EVEN go there. I was talking about from a purely entertainment standpoint.

OF COURSE I'm not saying you should sacrifice basic needs to get a better video game system. Heck, if you're THAT concerned with your child's welfare, then maybe you should spend that 50 bucks on clothes or an extra bottle of ketchup.

I'm sorry that I misunderstood your use of "dumbass". For future reference, I'll be sure to figure out which class of dumbass to which you refer.

As far as purely entertainment, my kids have been playing a N-64 for two years. Going up to a PS1 is a more entertaining system.

Maybe "dumbass" was too strong a word.

Here are my thoughts on entertainment (rant upcoming). Entertainment is constantly evolving. If your entertainment budget is small (like mine), then it's better to save up that money and get something big or top of the line that will keep you entertained longer, rather than something small or outdated. Those are MY personal thoughts, though, so instead of writing that out, it was just easier to type the word "dumbass". :)

Of course, if your son is happy with it, that's really all that matters.

My Xbox is gathering dust in my apartment. Make me an offer.

You get Xbox, 2 controllers, 3 games (Max Payne, ID 2002, Simpsons), and an RF adapter for TV's without A/V input.

    Sorry no Halo.

It's not that our entertainment budget is small, just diversified. Between Little league fees, basketball league fees, football fees, our swimming pool, the computers (five of them), digital cable and roadrunner, and assorted bikes, blades, and boards, there just isn't enough money for what I consider a minor form of entertainment...video gaming. It just doesn't rate high enough to spend that kind of money on. PS1 serves my kids needs for gaming, while allowing me to spend our money on the things I feel are better forms of entertainment.

Sorry for the dirt poor analogy...the "dumbass" remark made me over react.

Ugh! What's so great about that game? I'm still trying to get through SW: Starfighter but I'm having trouble cause its so lame it can't keep me interested. I guess I just don't get into the space shooters that are supposed to revolve around the newer SW movies. Why is Jedi Starfighter any better than regular Starfighter...those stupid force powers?

I actually didn't play the first one, so I don't know how they compare. The first one didn't look that good to me. Jedi Starfighter is an exciting and difficult game with good graphics. Just rent it! If you think it sucks, then you never have to listen to me again.

Just to let you know how I rank XBOX games.

    Max Payne was awesome.
