Of course, that's all just speculation! :D

DD - you think we sign Artest? What are your feelings on that?

The Rox in part are in the same boat as Sa,dallas, and phoenix. They think they're close, but they're really not plus they're aging. Before anything can happen with Tracy, morey will have to sell the idea to les that its better to deal now than wait till 2010 or fools gold as I like to call it. I think the rox are going to have to really think about constructing this team better to matchup against La,Utah, and the oncoming Portland team.

I created a thread similar to this a few months ago and i'll say it again, the rockets need to get players that can play in and out the system. When I say that, they need guys that can still be effective when the other team decides to take yao out the game. Too many times when teams committ to doing this, it kills any and all offensive flow. Depending on how serious u want to be, I have the same players in mind. Deng, jefferson, butler. I could also get some kind of package with gsw since they have a lot of wings. Also I guess u could throw carter in the roll call, but he is 31 or so and signed till he's about 36, so i'm not sure u want to do that.

Deng makes probably the most sense because he's young (24) he moves well without the ball and is a really good mid range shooter. He was just resigned for about 10m per for 5 yrs, but Chicago might want to get into the fools gold sweeps and getting his salary off the books really helps. Plus, if they don't resign gordon, they could absorb tracy's contract.

Jefferson is another option. He played well in the princton offense. He's a good defender and a great finisher in traffic, something this team really misses. He has 3 yrs at about 11m left. Redd coming back, the resigning of charlie v, and the 1st rd pick alexander might prompt them to move him. The rox would have to take gadzuric which wouldn't be a problem to get to 25% of of the 23m.

Butler is another good choice. Again, played in the princton offense. Really good defender, tough and hard nosed also. He has 3 yrs at about 9m so they would need 8m to get to the 17m to make the salaries match. The rox would have to take thomas and the stevenson kid to make it work.

If I was the gm, that's what I would be looking at. They might actually could move battier and some of those expiring for those players also. Whatever the case, the rockets need to make something happen this summer. Those expirings are very valuable, even a guy like tracy's deal. They just need to be on board and move instead of waiting on fools gold.

Great/wishful minds think alike (post 15). I'm hoping something like this happens where we get a solid scoring wing and a good pg. Ellis/Lowry combo equals many fouls on our opponents. That is 48 minutes of no-let-up relentless attacks.

Do you think Spurs will ever give up Ginobili? Tmac + anyone for Ginobili. Scola + Ginobili will be sick!

My only trade ups are for:

    Richard Jefferson
    Danny Granger
    Al Harrington
    Joe Johnson

Maybe T-Mac to the Celtics for a backup C. I dont know.

    I haven't checked salaries...
But Jefferson and Gadzuric would be nice in a deal.

I think that IF Morey trades the TMac salary, we MUST get a good backup C. I thyink Dan Gadzuric is our man.

I like the idea of Monta Ellis that someone has provided earlier too, but I'd want a big in that deal rather than maggette.

Pistons are a good possiblity as they will probably look to rebuild now.
Rip would put us over the top if coached by Adelman. Maybe we can get McDyess with him if we give up one of our high potential young guns like wafer brooks or landry.

T-Mac, Lowry and Cook to Chicago for Gordon, Hinrich and Grey.

I have seen some games of Boston Chicago series, and I think Gordon is a great go-to guy that we need.

Nope, I think he is declining in skill, his foot speed has gotten significantly worse, and he still thinks he is "The Man" which is part of his problem.

I hope someone wants him and we can do a sign and trade for him.

IMO, Von is more important to the future of this team than Ron is....

Only if John Salmons and Brad Miller was still available.

I remember, I was arguing with King1 (I think...) about it.

After watching the Bulls, I think it is fair to say that we missed on a golden opportunity. All Kings got was Nocconi and fillers!

I knew John Salmons would be productive, but Brad Miller being this rejuvenated? I did not see that coming.

A lot of teams will be looking to get out of the 09 draft...I wonder if Tracy's fat expiring contract could lure us a lottery (top 10 preferably since the draft is so awful) pick.

Tmac will not pass body check in summer.
Pistons will not ask Rockets if they know tmac situation...

I think Rockets will let tmac run out his contract.

Howabout a trade for Antawn Jamison? Pure scorer. He'll put numbers on the sheets like crazy.

    Brooks,
    Yao
    Jamison
    Scola
    Artest
