so your method to make them to go away is by posting 100 times in them? PS I don't consider a thread started after Aaron Brooks tosses up 3 stinker games in a row a knee jerk thread - it's a pretty valid topic.
Hopefully it is making them realize what is going on with Brooks, and that he is just doing what the coaches tell him to do. The problem is, the YOFs...which are the one's in this thread primarily b****ing about him not passing the ball to Yao. Same ones that b****ed about Sura, then Rafer, and now Brooks.....I don't care if Yao scores, he was highly effective defensively in some of the wins... I just care about the team, that is the overall point.....not whether Yao gets his touches..... He is going to struggle some.....but the pressure he puts on the opposing team is still a factor....and the team won 2 of those games.....not sure what the b****ing was all about...2-1 in the playoffs is pretty good. DD
Lowry leads this team in the 2quarter, the pace is good. and ROCKETS LEAD SINCE 2 quarter.when Lowry is in. AB? Although ,he scored more than Lowry. It doesn't make me think he is better. I have the feeling ,AB will be traded next season, due to he has a good enough stats to make a trade.
highly agree with this statement. i bet we'll see some bench KL sigs once the Rockets start him. i remember the same threads and comments on Alston and Sura. It gets old and outside the bounds of basketball intelligence. I'm convinced those fans won't be pleased even if Chris Paul was our starting PG.
The funny thing is, do you know why got more touches tonight? HE MOVED !!!!! When Yao is not rooted to one spot he is impossible to cover, when he moves and the ball rotates as well, he can kill teams that front him. I for one, was happy to see the big fella moving his body, that more than anything is how you beat a fronting defense. DD
haters! he might not be the best passing point guard but he gave the portland trailblazers a heck of a lot of trouble on the defensive end trying to guard him, and he gets to the freethrow line a lot. and honestly aaron brooks does pass the ball a lot, he just doesn't create a lot of plays. i would take aaron brooks anyday over rafer wackson.
DD, u can stay on the debate till the web crashes and most people won't understand growth. Some people was saying he is a slow learner, yet we still see some players make the same errors 7 yrs in the league. The pg spot is the most difficult because u have to know when to set people up and when to get yourself going. He's never going to be a traditional pg and what people don't realize when he played with the 2nd unti is they have more slashers and better athletes. He can run with the 1st unit, but scola is the only other guy that's running. People question how can yao not get the ball, but if a team doesn't want a player to get the ball, especially a immobile guy like yao, he won't get it. Overrall, brooks is going to have ups and downs like most young guys. Once tracy went down for good, any misleading hope of the team contending went out the window. That run with the tracy-yao combo is dead. The thought of having spot up players to feed off tracy and yao are dead. The rox are in transition of reshaping this team to get quicker and more athletic. Brooks, lowry, and wafer are part of the new direction. As much as people like tony rock clamored for lowry, he's playing with 2nd teamers and shot rafer like for the series. That doesn't mean I don't like the guy, im just saying he has flaws as a young guy also.
lol... yup... now I understand why RA gave AB so much playtime in that game against Portland where he took 20 shots in a loss... a learning experience. It's paying off so far. People tend to play alot better when they know their coach and team mates have confidence on them. He was definitely the kink last night against the LA defense. He really took it to Fisher. It will be interesting to see what kind of adjustments LA makes now that they know he can hurt them.
Lakers have no one that can stop Brooks, not even Farmer. The only thing I'm worried about is on the defensive end, as well as how thuggish the Lakers will get.
I think we should keep them both for the next ten years....they are a good combo and brooks will only get better...quit b****in...jeez
The key once again is his decisionmaking, he made quick decisions last night which generally resulted in good things (just try to shoot when he got the ball or when he got underneath0, when he hesitated (such as passing on an open three pointer to force in a pass at the end of the shot clock, resulting in a TO) - I think the lakers will try to force him into more "multiple option" situations where they play off him and see if he has to think about the situation more.
I agree Sam, just like Portland they underestimated his scoring ability, and they will adjust. It is a growth process, AB will have to make more passes as this series goes on.... DD
Brooks plays much better and looser when his shooting guard is taking the offensive burden off of him. Against the Blazers, Artest was so focused on guarding Roy that his offense was erratic, which allowed Portland to concentrate more on cutting off Brooks' driving lanes. In this series, however, Battier is the main defender of Bryant, allowing Artest to concentrate more on getting his offensive game going. This bodes well for Brooks, IMO. One good way to slow down Brooks is to make him work hard on the defensive end. I was surprised the Lakers didn't try to use their size advantage and post up Brooks with either Fisher or Bryant, which worked well for them in the regular season. Anyway, it's great to see Brooks getting so much love from the national media after Game 1. It's really going to help him play with a lot of confidence.
The Lakers can not post up Brooks because Yao is in the lane clogging it up....it is the new playoff D.... Rick Adelman's team is getting better and better as the roles are defined..... DD
Aaron had a big Game 1, just like in the previous series. But as that series showed, it doesn't mean he'll sustain it. The Lakers will play better defense, they'll put more emphasis on how to take away the things he likes to do, and Aaron will have to weather that and make the right decisions/passes.
I think AB played better last night than the Blazers game 1, because most of the points he scored in Portland game 1 when we were up 15 or more. But this game, they were all under pressure, especially those 2 baskets in the fourth when we were tied. Besides of his shooting and driving, I like his body language very much (except for that passed up open 3 in late clock), he was playing loose, and very aggressive. When Yao got the ball poked away by Gasol, AB fought it back on the floor and passed back to Yao for 2 FTs. Those are all big possession, which really fire the team up. Meanwhile, AB also passed better to the wing for Shane and Ron, for post entry passes. I am glad that they were determined and patient, even after a few turnovers from Yao, which paid off great in the end. I like RA's 2 quick small guards rotation at the end. LA didn't have an answer. Hope AB can keep his aggressiveness, go get Game 2!
