I love Brandon Roy and Aldridge. Great game. Great demeanor on and off the court. My second team to root for after the Rockets. Blazers need a PG. Blake and Sergio are absolute garbage. Still hurts for missing out on Brandon Roy. If that egomaniac Gundy wasn't so short sighted, right now we would have had Roy on this team and been right there with the Lakers.
As much as I hated Przybilla in the series, he was laughing it up with Battier and some other guys after the game. Seeing what Ron did, I think our guys have the utmost respect for everyone on their team.
Portland used to be my favorite team up until 95 when Clyde got traded to Houston and I instantly became a die hard Rockets fan ever since. P-town has ever since been my 2nd fav team. This series has been hard for me as it was like the older brother beating up on the younger brother but we've definitely paid our dues and this series was much deserved. With that said Portland was ALL CLASS this whole series. -I especially liked the standing ovation for Deke. -Blazer fans didn't retaliate with "HOUSTON SUCKS" chants when they easily could have in game 5. -They lost with a LOT of class. Especially Brandon Roy. He never once showed frustration or complained to the refs.... this trickled down to his teammates. -Things usually get pretty chippy in a 7 games series and I'm proud both sides didn't do anything foolish. Can't even really hate Joel/Oden that much they just played physical.... which is what you gotta do with Yao. -I know a lot of Portland fans will be cheering us on against the Lakers. - I had to watch the last 3 games on Blazers local network with the 2 biggest homers Mike & Mike but even they gave us credit where credit was due today. Hats off to Portland. Congratulations HOUSTON! BEAT LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good young team. BRoy is incredible (we missed him by 1 pick). Aldridge was very impressive too, and Blake and Fernandez can shoot the 3 ball. BUT, we were better. Good series against a team I don't hate.
Portland is a wonderful city; I have greatly enjoyed my visits there. The Blazers and the Bulls are the two best young teams in the league. They will be contenders for years to come. Roy and Aldridge, good grief they are good. Outlaw had a bad series, so maybe they would trade him to us. They kid is a lot better than he looked in this series. I still want him.
Roy: already an all-star, future superstar. Aldridge: future all-star ...plus a whole team of young talent... they'll be really good
Thanks guys, now that portland is out of the playoffs i will be cheering on the rockets! Now it's time to destroy the purple and gold!
yeah it is a beautiful city thats why it was not cool chanting "portland sucks". People are really nice in portland, and the blazers are a big deal to them. My 2nd favorite team
Actually lurking over at the Blazer's board, a surprising number of their fans have a newfound respectand appreciation for the Rockets after this series. It's been a pretty respectably fought series, no dirty stuff, pretty fairly won. Lots of them said they'd be rooting for the Rockets for the rest of the playoffs. That's some good mojo.
My hats off again to the Blazers fans. I was just reading some of the comments on the Fox Sports board and the Lakers fans are already talking sh^t. No Class..
