He has been in and out of Memorial Hermann over the last few days working with the Rockets team's physicians. Apparently, the MRI revealed that he had a buldging disc that was causing some back spasms. If they were able to get that swelling to go down, he'll be fine. They haven't really talked about the extent of the injury. Hopefully it was mild and they were just being cautious. But this will be something that Von will deal with the rest of the post season. Let's hope they can control it with pills, shots, and ice...and Von's superhuman strength. Barry needs to stay ready.
cortizone and go baby. I was really worried about this. We need POINTS tonight, and I hope Wafer can come up big.
pre game report is he took some pain killers and rehab ( ? i guess he got it manipulated by a chiro) and he's gonna give it a try. So remember this isn't a "yes he's back and ready", more like a , "he's suiting up and may be used if needed".
There have just been far too many Rockets hanging around Memorial Hermann lately. One of these days we will stay healthy for an entire season. Von is in incredible shape. He'll be able to play through this injury. He can heal up this summer after the season of his life.
Well, that would be my dream job...but no. I am a medical student at the school associated with Memorial Hermann. Our library is in the basement of the hospital, so whenever someone is in, the news spreads like wildfire. I was tempted to go searching for Deke when he was in the OR the other day...but I wasnt sure I would be able to maintain my composure...still pretty sad that he is done. I've been watching too many of those Deke tribute videos on youtube.
