http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playo...ist=thorpe_david&page=ScoutingRocketsBlazers6 David Thorpe breaks down what to look for in game 6, and he picks the Rockets to win. [rquoter] ... X factors Houston • Aaron Brooks has made just 10 of his past 36 shots in this series. But he carried the Rockets to their explosive Game 1 win. If he is on from 2 or 3, Houston's offense can kick into a new gear. • Von Wafer has had a quiet series but is a fearless player. He can heat up fast and quickly provide a big margin for the Rockets in the second half. Portland • Rudy Fernandez had a great Game 3 in Houston and might get more playing time in Game 6. He has the potential to be a great equalizer. • If the game is allowed to be physical on both sides, which Game 6s often are, will the Blazers be able to dominate the offensive glass? Prediction In most respects, this kind of game is pretty easy to go with the home team playing a close-out game. But Portland is grittier and more talented than most of the NBA's teams and, with Roy, has a chance in anyone's arena. On the other hand, this Houston team is loaded with strong chemistry and great defense, so unless something happens to destroy that chemistry, the Rockets should be able to pull out the clinching win. Prediction: Houston wins Game 6. [/rquoter] Unfortunately, he had Von Wafer as one of our X-factors. Brooks needs to be very good in this game.
"• Von Wafer has had a quiet series but is a fearless player. He can heat up fast and quickly provide a big margin for the Rockets in the second half." so much for that
Maybe they should've informed first whether Wafer would play. My guess is he really thinks Portland will win but does it in a very roundabout way, sneaky Let's hope Barry can fill in or White in case Brent stinks up the place
brooks usually follows a really bad game with a really good game shooting wise. i think brooks will get 20+ points tonight.
Uh not really. AB had a garbage Game 3 and continued his Garbage with Game 4 and had another garbage night in Game 5. I hope Aaron can play with a brain, but that might be like hoping Aaron can grow 5 more inches.
I think AB screwed himself and the team trying to show off to his home crowd on Tuesday. Tonight, we will hopefully get him playing professional but fearless basketball without the childish mistakes like leaving your man before you know where the ball is.
Why did we announce so early that Wafer wasn't going to play and thereby give Portland more time to adjust?
i sorta doubt the blazers are game-planning for wafer. instead of wafer drives to the bucket, we'll have barry 3's... rockets still win.
