ClutchFans Game Thread: Blazers @ Rockets 4/30/2009 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 6)

We have all found out that this blazers team is a very good team. Artest said the best team will win tonight, and he also confessed that Roy is the best player he has ever played against, after being schooled by All Star guard.

Tonight we need to rockets to really lay it all out there, AB and Ron have to play the BEST GAME of their lives. YAO has to summon inner strength like never before because the blazers duo of Oden and Billa will try EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to frustrate and stop YAO today. We cannot force the issue, and this is where AB and RON will be key. If These 2 guys play well, then the blazers are in trouble because everything opens up, especially for YAO. Rockets must play ROY really PHYSICAL, we must take him out of tonights game to have a chance. Wafer and Landry have to bring there a game, attack the basket each time and take away their agression.

The greatest 6th man tonight will have to be the FANS. They must stand for all 48 mins, be as loud as possible and boo the blazers each time they touch the ball. Show images of how rockets dismantled portland in GAME on will every one making almost 50% of their shots.

If we do this, the rockets will blow out this young team, by half time this game should be over. We must not give them ANY SIGNS of LIFE.

Today is the rockets, Game 7 for the NBA championship, They cannot lose this opportunity tonight.

To win this game the rox need to bring their DEFENSE! simple as that. We no longer have our spark off the bench (wafer). We cant go on a scoring competition with them. We need to stop from scoring at will. If you re-watched all the games, blazers lost because they dont penetrate. Game 2 and 5 show them penetrate at will on our guards. We need to stop that and play lock down D. We'll win the game if we do that. Else Yao can pack up and go fishing with Kenny and Chuck next week.

This is it. This by far is the biggest game of the decade. Bigger then the 2 game 7's because those game 7's were 50/50 we might win. But this game it's 100/0 we win or we choke in the playoffs again.

I don't really understand your 50/50, 100/0 thing, but other than that, I agree, it's the Rockets' biggest game yet. Every time we get eliminated, each successive potential series-winning game becomes bigger and bigger.

First of all, if it was late in the 4th quarter he didn't really have any reason to complain, everyone was standing.

But no, you shouldn't expect people behind you to stand up the entire game because you somehow think that standing is going to bother the visiting team. Standing up doesn't make you louder and it doesn't make you win games. Basically you are saying you are going to make everyone behind you stand up because you don't care if you paid for a seat, you are going to act like you have a SRO ticket anyway. lame.

I fully encourage you to get excited and yell and have a good time, but don't question another person's dedication to the team or the game because they don't want to stand up the entire time. Some of us have season tickets or ticket packages and don't have to act like it's their first game just because a ton of fairweather fans only show up for the playoffs.

The premise of your argument is flawed. Standing up can help you win games, in the same way that being loud can. It gets the players amped up, and makes them want to fight harder for every board, every loose ball, every play. The players have eyes as well as ears. They can see 20,000 fans on their feat pushing them to the win just like they can hear 20,000 fans cheering pushing them to win.

Had a dream last night that the Rockets scored 120 to 100 something for the blazers.

I still say they choke, and blazers force Game 7.

In order for the Rox to win..............

1. AB needs to run the offense effectively.
2. The Rox must dominate the glass.
3. Ron needs to post up 80% of the time.
4. Barry needs some playing time.
5. Chuck, Shane and Ron must intimidate defensively.
6. Shane needs to sink at least 4 three's in the second half.
7. The Rox must hit their free throws.
8. Must play aggressively
9. Pray.............especially Yao before the game like game 1

I know this will never happen in one game so I'll take 6 out of 9
