The Hornets are pathetic. I know the current state of the economy is not helping their owner's or his team's cause but I have a hard time seeing how Paul would want to stay in New Orleans even though his contract has 5 more years on it.

    1. Their salary cap situation is bad. If they don't make any serious moves between now and two years from now, they have zero space to make any moves at all. They have West locked in for another 3 years; Posey for another ridiculous 3 years; Peja and Chandler each for another 2 years. Basically these 4 players are owed about $80 million dollars. Oh yea--they have Mo Pete for another 2 years/12 mil.

    2. David West has hit his ceiling...and that was last year. If the rumored package including West for Rip Hamilton and Prince get more real in the offseason, it would benefit both teams.

    3. They have no center. Chandler is hobbling along and he's easily their best defender in the paint. Their backup centers aren't anything to write home about either.

    4. They have money locked up into perimeter players that are ready or are about to be ready to be put out into the pastures. Peja and Peterson are shells of their former selves and signing Posey to that ridiculous deal when other positions needed to be filled was dumb.

A lot of things can happen and I hope they do turn around for the Hornets and the city of New Orleans but there are a lot of leaks that can't be plugged up in just a year or two.

Yup, the most overrated player in the league. His only real talent is the ability to jump high.

At first I thought J.R. hit Posey like a football player until the replay showed he tripped him up.

Denver needs to get Nene the ball; the Hornets don't have anyone with the bulk to guard him.

Chandler is out, a complete loser like Hilton Armstrong gets 10 minutes in the first half, Sean Marks plays 14 minutes and the game is tied. The Nuggets are bumbling around like they usually do when the other team actually comes to play.

I don't think for one minute the Hornets will stick around for the entire 2nd half and make it a game, but is it clearer now the Nuggets aren't all that great?
