Why don't they just HAND THE BALL TO YAO? Guys don't flame me for this but don't you think if passing is too difficult because they are fronting Yao or whatever they could dribble the ball and basically hand it off or place it right in his gut like a NFL running back?

Just a thought, but its frustrating to see the Rockets lose why Yao is not getting his touches!

    Not a bad idea...

...but you don't think McMillan, or any of the Blazers would figure out what the plan was?

    fail?

This play would never work. Your just bringing another defender to Yao. Your basically giving them the ball.

let's try it, just walk close to Yao, and give the ball to him hand to hand....

Why don't they just box a ball up, address to Yao in the post and have special instructions to have it delivered to him via FedEx when he's set? If you REALLY want to confuse the defense, make his defender sign for it. Suckers!

Yao would get double teamed right away.

We have seen Yao able to operate with double teams. The thing is putting him in that situation.

Great idea!! Why stop at the post, have Yao set up right under the rim, wait until fronted, and let's hand it to him! I'm sure portland will allow us to do that, heck, they may even offer to take the ball and hand it to yao themselves!

Don't take this the wrong way but do you play ball?? That would be a horrible idea. Yao's man is guarding him and your bringing another defender to him. Would not work. Also Yao has butterfingers so all it takes is someone to strip him to cause a turnover and score a bucket at the other end.

y'all are missing the point, it's not just about bringing another defender to yao, that's implying you can actually get to him. If yao is being fronted, that means you'd have to hand him the ball on the side that he's on, the INSIDE side of the block, as in, facing the rim, having an open lane to the rim, if you get that close you dont hand yao the ball, might as well lay it in, but it would really become a drive because Portland isn't going to let you walk that far in.

handing him the ball when doubled is completely out of the question, you're just asking for a jump ball time and time again.

I would just like Yao to rebound it if they are fronting him...punish them on the offensive glass.

How about have Aaron run around like a chicken and lose his defender and then hand it to Yao.

He's already running around like a chicken, now if he could just do the other two.

the problem is our guards are too slow in passing to yao. then they rush crap passes.

they must run down the floor and IMMEDIATELY pass to Yao...before the front. there is time....take a look at the tape.

If yao gets swarmed...then he must pass out and repost...

we come down...guards hold the ball...then force pass while yao is already fighting. no way to catch effectively.

look back at how they passed into olajuwon...ran down and wham...pass

there isn't always time, the opposing team is always going to pretty much get there first unless it's a fast break. Yao has to get the def rebound, which allows Oden/prz to go downcourt first.

The key is yao getting position correctly, like someone mentioned earlier he goes and sets up right behind Przybilla, yao CREATES the front after a while...

Yao needs to start from the around the top of key while the play is developing, then dip down into the paint and immediately receive the ball. I've seen Yao do this several times but the ball isn't passed to him. Apparently they are running a different play in that instance.

    I got a better idea.

If they can't get the ball in the basket, why don't they just dribble right to the basket and lay it in? I mean, how OBVIOUS is that? Stupid Rockets.
