LOL. There's unlv and who else in that league? I'd love to see the wac all-stars versus the chinese all-stars.

all im going to do is try to ignore all of this. pretend it didnt happen and remember that DocRocket said we'd draft Yao Ming. ignorant or not im just going assume the rockets are going to draft him and keep him so i stay sane up until draft day. all these trades are too much to think about.

That would be the best trade in Rockets history. Getting rid of the biggest ballhog in the NBA, a player with a microscopic bball IQ who consistently makes terrible decisions. I think without Cuttino's crappy iso game which freezes out teammates the Rockets would be much better off: addition by subtraction. Unfortunately, outside of Rudy T and some blind sheep on clutchcity.net who think everything the Rockets crap out is gold most GM's know that Mobley's game is crap: No way the Clips make that deal.

oh dear god there has been some overreacting.

    1) its the best damn sports show period, not GM weekly where every GM is paying great attention to every word. also, i don't any GM's start lowering/raising the value of players/picks b/c of what cuttino mobley says on a sports show. they would be absolute fools to do this as then you could misdirect people all over the place all the time. maybe if it was a huge garnett type star coming out to the media absolutely demanding something, values could be affected, but not random comments from mobley. when they sit down at the bargaining table, teams aren't gonna say "well we would've thrown in that other pick but the Cat said he didn't really like this guy."

    2) i don't really know how nba teams work in regard to their players giving interviews but i would at least assume they are aware of them (hell if we're aware, i'm sure they are) and have some input into what will be said. and that would seem to be especially true in this critical pre-draft period. i don't think the rockets turned a blind eye to this interview and just said "say whatever comes out of your mouth cuttino."

    3) from my perspective, far too much is being made of francis (and now mobley) controlling this team. basically we have the tmo and mooch situation to go on and neither of those were earth shaking moves destined to change the franchise forever. maybe francis really said i want tmo and they did that. but someone else said rudy really liked him anything so maybe it was just a happy coincidence (or not so happy from our perspective) that it worked like that. someone said francis has been saying "it's management's decision." how is that controlling the team or making outrageous demands.

    4) if we get wilcox, odom, dixon then maybe i'll start thinking differently but i don't see it happening. of course considering many on here have been advocating those exact players (not me) why should it be such a huge surprise or indictment of steve as gm.

finally, calm down, it's the friggin best damn sports show period. hell, i like it, but any show featuring tom arnold is not and should not be considered a paragon of providing detailed sports info. it's just guys talking like guys talk with each other about stuff trying to make us laugh. unless a guest is on, and then the ass-kissing level goes way up.

ps. does that guy from philadelphia on the show, the nba insider guy (can't believe i'm forgetting his name, stephen smith?) ever not talk loud/angry to try to appear right. he doesn't seem to believe he is fallible

pss or pps or psII i hope i used paragon right

cuttino mobley shoots 25 times per game: posted by numerous people

cuttino mobley's actual shots per game last season: 18.35

hey y'all are only off by about 7 shots, no need for accuracy in these discussions or anything.

. . . . and we've come full circle, Cuttino was originally the most disliked Rocket, and though he enjoyed a brief respite at the expense of Mo Taylor and Steve Francis, he's back where he's always been. You'd think Mobley went on that crappy show and said, "Either trade the pick, or trade me" - he didn't, so stop overreacting.

P.S. : The best part of this whole process is that its relatively easy to tell who's talking out of their ass in regards to Cuttino, Francis, Yao and others.

When you consider how little shot attempts we throw up a game (because of our 23 second dribbling) 18.35 is a hell of a lot.

Stats are useless, unless you know how to translate them. Unfortunately, I don't think you did that too well.

That wouldn't solve anything from Min and Hou's standpoint. The T-Wolves hate Wally because he doesn't look to pass the ball. What do you think Mobley's main problem is?

Raptorman, if you have an interest in sheep, perhaps someone here can link you up with a certain fellow from the Balkans. He has an interest in sheep as well. You could get together someday and compare notes. And you seem to have an interest in crap... keep searching on the Net. You may find some more suited to your taste.

indeed they are my friend. so let me translate for you. houston took 80.8 shots per game this season. 14 teams took more, 14 teams took less. the highest avg was sacramento with 85.4. so even if i adjust for the highest shots per game in the league, that still only gives cuttino 19.39 shots per game, 22.5% off of the posted 25. now what was that you were saying about not knowing how to use stats.

also, i read a post of yours debunking stats in the astros forum. do you just not like them because you don't like having FACTS invalidate your often asinine OPINIONS.

    another mobley tidbit.

he was 11th in FGA and 13th in scoring so he is not just jacking up shots w/o results. he also does not have the free throw numbers to boost his average like others.

OK, first of all, Mobley took a nice paycut to play here in Houston. He has always had the heart of a champion. He is a basketball junkie, coaches have to ask him to stop working out in the summer cause they're worried he'll hurt himself. He's about the most dedicated basketball player you'll find in the league. Stop dissing Mobley. That's the one thing about this board that I will never ever understand. If Mobley wants Odom, he has a right to say that. Hell, he's been on the Rockets longer than any current player we have on the team. Let him and Rudy work it out. It may not be as big of a deal as you think.

With all the hatred towards Francis, Mobley, Rice, Taylor, Cato, Moochie, and Rudy T, I'm surprised this board is as popular as it is.

Losing makes the natives restless. Winning everyone look like geniuses. Losing does just the opposite.:(

Cat is the only player on our team that has shown improvement every year he has been in the league. Heck, he even improved from the first half of the season to the second half of the season. I don't care how many shots he jacks up as long as he continues to shoot it at a decent clip which he did after the all-star break. The reason we lose is because of post play and defense (Dream used to take care of this for us). Lets worry about this instead of what Cat says during a sports show with Tom Arnold in it.

If we don't make the playoffs next year, Steve Francis will probably be the most hated Rocket ever...

Don't comment on this subject anymore!! You're a crackhead to think that Steve and Cat are a alliance and running the team! He (CAT) voiced his opinion, is that illegal? Odom would be a perfect fit at the 3 for us and would create huge problems for teams abroad. EVERYONE knows we need a center, but we can not take a risk with YAO MING if there is going to be red tape around him.

C'mon. You cannot be serious. Hustle? Cat leaves his heart and soul on the court each and every night. Shooting touch? Check out Cat's %s. Team Play? Do me a favor? Check out how many shots your man put up last year, then we will talk about his team play.

If I had the 3rd pick in this years draft, I would strongly consider Butler. No way is he better than Cat.

What the heck would that do for us? Cat is better than Wacky. I bet if Cat was on the Pups they would get out of the first round. Possum, I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Someone must of stole your password and posted under your user name.

I'm on the bandwagon with Gater and New Jack.

Draft Ming AND do what it takes to get Odom.
