This would ONLY work if Rashard Lewis really wants to come back home and "forces" the Sonics to trade him to us! How about this as a sign-and-trade deal if Lewis really wants to come home:

*we send the #15 pick, Kenny Thomas, and Moochie Norris to Seattle for Rashard Lewis(after Seattle signs him to the "max" contract). Would this work under the salary cap? Anyone know?

    Think of our line-up then:
    PG-Francis
    SG-Mobley
    SF-Lewis
    PF-Taylor(w/ EG at his heels!)
    C-Ming
    :D

I may think different than most people around here, but I would much rather have Desmond Mason than Rashard Lewis, Lewis is 1-dimensional, and he won't get much better. Whereas Desmond is very athletic, can get to the rim AND shoot outside shots...This is even without the fact that he comes ALOT cheaper than Lewis...

No, you're right about Mason having developed into a very good player. I just didn't know about Mason's contract situation. Is he in the same position as Lewis? BUT still, I'd rather have Lewis becuz I think he's still developing as a player. 1-2 more years and we could have something really "special" w/ him. Also, is Mason big/tall enough to play SF? I thought he's in the 6-6 range...

Lewis' new contract will make him a BYC player and since both Seattle and Houston are over the cap it can't get done without a third team which is under the cap (Bulls, Clipps, Wiz). In other words, don't hold your breath.

This is a lengthy but definitive thread on the subject:

    You're welcome.

You're right about the rules (CBA) being difficult. I've been posting here two years and it took the thread I gave you to finally gain some understanding of Base Year Contracts.

I made some real embarrassing trade proposals when I first started posting until I learned some of the basics. You and I will get along fine as long as you don't want to trade a draft pick + Kenny Thomas ($1.6m) for Kevin Garnett ($25m). :)

Hope you enjoy your time at the best basketball fan BBS in the world!
