brooks was wreckless and tenative...lowry ineffective. both shoot 6-22.

why didn't adelman bring in barry? at least brent can pass better than brooks today, shoot a high percentage, and bring playoff experience....

This isn't the worst suggestion in the world. I could live with Barry at the point matched up against Blake, since we all know Blake is only good for one drive a game. As long as he's not matched up with Roy i'm okay with this.

Because Adelman knows that Rocket will not pass Lakers. So he decided to give more opportunity to AB to make him a hero.

This would have been the greatest idea in the world, IF, it was like 10 years ago, closer to his slam dunking days.

His legs aren't what they used to be. He'd get pwned big time on defense. I also question his ability to drive to the basket nowadays.

He'd get stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey.

I honestly think RA handed the reigns over to Brooks too soon. For whatever reason, Brent Barry never got enough play time this season to get used to running the offense. Now it's a huge gamble to go to Barry with 2 games left and Barry never had much game time running the offense.

On second thought, Brooks is much more of a stuffed turkey than Barry ever was or will be.

Come on down Brent, we have a winner!!!

If only we make coaching decisions by popular vote in real time.

One of the things this team really needs to work on heavily in the off season is the basics of entry passing. Outside of Battier (and I'll even give McGrady credit here, he was a good entry passer), nobody on this team is good at entry passes and that is largely the issue.

Brent Berry would be an improvement in terms of entry passes to Yao but he was pretty much bad on both sides of the floor during the regular season. If we were down 3-1 and had nothing to lose, I'd say try it. But we're up. And we have a close out game 6 at home. You gotta stick with the guys who got you here now.

I think coach Adelman agrees with you, and he probably won't change his rotation at this point. Still, I think that when Brooks plays as much out of control as he did tonight (and when Lowry comes in and commits rookie fouls), we would be better off with Barry in there. Portland is actually a good matchup for him because out of all the point guards out there, Blake is probably one of those whom Barry could handle rather well, relatively speaking.

Like Brooks plays good D against blake? Brooks not only plays no defense, he gives up offensive rebounds to blake as well.

Steve effen Blake is shooting .471/.400/.667 averaging 10.5 points and 7.3 assists to only 1 TO per game this series. He's doing what a PG is supposed to do, but even then, his scoring ability is no worse than Brooks if not more consistent.

Don't go effen him just because he's a whitey.

though stats may not show it, blake is helping the blazers sooooo much more than brooks. if we had blake in place of ab this series wouldve been over 4-0.

I respect what he's doing but let's not act like he's some kind of game changer that gets to basket whenever he wants to. He does exactly what he's asked to do: run the offense (sometimes), nail open shots and to not make any mistakes. Sound familiar? [cough, Rafer]

Over half of his shot attempts are three point bombs, some 20 footers and the 1-2 drives he's good for a game....in 40 minutes. This is a player Carl Landry could probably guard if we asked him to. ;)

Have you seen Brent Barry this year?

The man has made a lot of boneheaded plays when he's been in the game.

He started shooting better but his decision making was still shaky.

Anyway it's the playoffs you can't just change your rotation around like people on this board are suggesting. It's not that easy.

    100% agree.

Every time I see Brent try to make a pass, it's some terrible pass that ends up being a turnover. I have not seen him play a single good game all season that leads me to believe he's "The Answer" at point.

Exactly and PG is the one position that you can't just change in the middle of the playoffs. You definitely can't put a guy who has played 0 minutes in the playoffs and all of a sudden decide you want him to run the team.

If Adelman ever changed PG it would be Kyle Lowry over Brooks, not Barry over Brooks.

Don't worry, when we face the Celtics in the Finals, Brent will get the ball back after a silly turnover by doing this:
